Love your videos! I’ve followed them for sometime. I’m Scottish and recently moved to the US. Learning Gaelic has really shed new light on the words we all use at home day to day that have much older origins. We just call them ‘old’ words, that I never hear anywhere else. Some I can see came from Gaelic and some we consider just Scottish. When I’m more practiced I can’t wait to have conversation with someone. I can see how the English spoken in Scotland comes from Gaelic with the tones and delivery, I have been asked in America if I’m speaking Gaelic when it’s actually English… or Scottish as I’d say Keep up the great work!!

Seo sgoinneil! You did a great job with the music selection as well as the filming. This is a fantastic way to train the ear to hear the language. It can be frustrating to learn to pick out the words and decifer new words, but the music and the visuals are so relaxing and peaceful that it's a pleasure to listen to. Math fhèin, a chàraid!

Alors, juste merci Mr Bond 🙂

Jason, would it be possible for you to show us how to get to the correct accents and such on the keyboard and the Gaelic names for them?

Hi, what is the difference between miorbhaileach and iongantach ?
@GaelicwithJason
@GaelicwithJason Рік тому
Feasgar math, a Chaluim! Miorbhaileach = marvelous, iongantach = amazing, wonderful. I would say that the latter has more of a ' wow' to it.🙂

Are you able to understand and hold a conversation with someone speaking Irish Gaelic?
@GaelicwithJason
@GaelicwithJason Рік тому
Feasgar math! It depends where they're from. If they're from Donegal, it would likely be fairly smooth. I remember chatting with a fellow from Dublin once and understanding about 60% of what he said. I'm not sure about the other dialects - I think they'd be more challenging since they're more distant from the Gaelic in Scotland. I could be wrong though.🙂
