I don't think he's uninterested, I think he has work to do and likes his job. I mean he was paying attention when the battery plate was put on, and you can tell he definitely put a lot of work into it.. but the way he reacted when it went on is "of course it fits right on, I made it to fit on because this is what I love to do"... @@paulweston8184 I kinda have to disagree. Linus is an on screen character, and he’s touring the facility and asking questions for the intent of educating the audience. His goofiness and actions that may seem disrespectful are simply making the information more palpable for the audience than word vomit. On top of that Linus expressed how he is impressed with his tools, the finish and other various things throughout the video. I guess, in short, take it how you want it.

I've replaced that top bumper piece before. It's the only thing that has broken on my Elite Controller. I would be pretty surprised if that doesn't end up failing at some point, or maybe not if this thing is just going to be a display piece in the office going forward. Also you really need some custom buttons that have gold letters!

This is great but still a huge compromise. There's room for improvement if you make it out of platinum and replace the stock buttons with gemstones - ruby, emerald, topaz & sapphire for the ABXY to match the colors.

Stress hardening occurs mostly during plastic deformation. It can happen to a small extent during elastic deformation, but gold is so ductile and this controller will see such infrequent use, I doubt you would be able to cause a fracture.

What’s the weight compared to an elite 2? As the elite 2 is a bit heavy compared to a normal controller but is really balanced and feels great to hold

well, because IT IS a gold faraday cage. Fine wire mesh does a great job blocking radio signals, a solid shield made of gold, one of the most conductive metals on this planet... I just wouldn't expect it to have the best wireless performance, if not at all. But it still has the USB port, you can still play games with it wired

It will work but it will have reduced range. How is it possible? The controller is not sealed shut and the bluetooth signal doesn't need to go very far so it works out. (It helps that there are many gaps in the shoulder buttons and triggers which is roughly the area where the bluetooth signal propagates from) That said I kinda expect around 5 feet of range to be on the upper limit before it starts acting up or losing connection.

@@alexisrivera200xable Bluetooth runs at 2.4GHz, or a ~12cm wavelenght. Tiny cracks like that would let almost nothing through (hint: microwaves operate at the same frequency at ~1kW and the relatively coarse mesh in the door manages to keep enough in that it doesn't even disrupt your WiFi which is about 10000 times weaker). That being said, it *will* work because dumb shielding like this (not designed to use reflections to cause destructive interference) doesn't do much without grounding.
