They had different values, in part because education back then was a luxury that very few had and it was very centered on religion, when you have ignorance + an extreme rought life (life back then for the average joe was NOT easy, specially at the sea) + seeing scenes of brutality pretty much everyday(for example people dying from diseases, authorities beating up people and burning people alive (for example during the inquisition)) = a group of people that have normalized brutality and don't have a notion what human dignity really is

I just watched around a dozen videos from this channel and found a lot of information I believe to be inaccurate. And most of it is simple stuff that one should know. I like the videos but itβs hard to believe what is being said when inaccurate information is being thrown in. I do doubt itβs being done on purpose though. But with that being said everyone makes errors. I read, study and research these kinds of things as a hobby and enjoy coming across channels like this they sometimes contain information on subjects I didnβt know or have forgotten. I did subscribe though and for the most part I enjoyed the videos I watched.
