Fascinating to watch with somewhat different equipment. I grew up working in my Dads tyre retreading and recap factory in New Zealand. Everyday after school and school holidays thru the 1960's. At that time Dad has been retreading longer than anybody else in NZ and he worked 6 days a week. When I was 15 I started work full time. I did everything with the exception of buffing heavy truck tires which were a 2 man job.

Durante 10 años trabajé en un a fábrica de recauchutaje en mí país Uruguay. Era oficial embandador , desde 1973 a 1983 y ver éste vídeo me trajo muy lindos recuerdos. Lamentablemente con la crisis bancaria de 1982 en el 83 la empresa dió quiebra y varios empleados quedamos sin trabajo en un momento muy difícil de nuestro país. Nunca más trabajé en ése rubro pero al ver ésto me llenó de nostalgia porque tenía muy buenos amigos que después por circunstancias de la vida no volví a ver.

I get Hypnotized watching these guys do their thing with these old tires. It keeps the tires out of the land fills and gives the truck drivers a reasonable price on a reconditioned tire for their trucks. These guys are very special in my book and I have the utmost respect for them~!! 💪💪✌✌🙏🙏

I recently had a job doing this in the U.S (Ohio) and most of the steps they did was similar, but for instance. After the tire came out of the Oven the side walls of the tire was painted. The tire also never touched the ground once the process started. Definitely an interesting job, and it takes a lot of skill to get them correct. Great video 💯👍🏻👍🏻

Considering a tire is worn out after only 5% of the material is consumed, recycling tires is a great idea.

Interesting and very involved process. It seems that this is more work than making a new tire due to the automated process of new manufacturing. Material consumption and the reuse of resources is a planet saving effort however. Well done.

Retreaded tires are a huge business the world over. It's great to see this company not letting these tires go to waste. These guys are skillfully turning the used casings into a valuable product. Great video. Please make a video about line boring.

Retreading was common also for car tires 30-40 years ago here (Norway). Still sold for lorries and heavy machines. But I guess the amount of work makes the process unfeasible for cheaper tires. Regarding the video: These gentlemen show great craft with simple equipment. And as a Northerner who thinks around 25C is the highest comfortable temperature, I cannot imagine how it is possible to do such hard work in a very hot country. Impressive!

Don't dwell on things from the past, don't stress on your future. Just live your life, because you only get one. Do whatever makes you happy, not what other people want from you. I did EXACTLY this at a Bandag shop in Canada 40 years ago. Exactly the same equipment, work conditions were worse if anything.

Sehr interessant!!; Tatsächlich wurde ich auf einen ähnlichen Prozess aufmerksam, der vor mehreren Jahrzehnten an den Fahrwerksreifen vieler kommerzieller / militärischer Flugzeuge durchgeführt wurde. Die Reifengrundstruktur wurde von den Resten der Lauffläche „abgezogen“, dann in eine Form mit Schlauch gelegt, Form geschlossen und pastöser Gummidruck eingespritzt, mehrere Stunden ausgehärtet und fertig. Was mich am meisten erstaunte, war, dass jeder Reifen über 10 Mal „erneuert“ werden konnte, wenn ich an (damals beliebte) Boeing 727-Flugzeuge dachte, die mehrmals an jedem Tag flogen / landeten, mehrere Start- und Landebahnen, Landung mit ungefähr 260 km/h, Reifen drehten sich erst bei plötzlichem Kontakt mit Landebahnoberfläche. 0 auf 160 mph in Sekunden, ganz zu schweigen von Temperaturproblemen + tonnenschweren Lasten. Es ist jedoch ziemlich viel RD + -Engineering erforderlich !!.

Very interesting!!; Actually I became aware of a similar process being done to many commercial / military aircraft's landing gear's tyres, several decades ago. The basic tyre structure was 'peeled off' of what was left of tread, then put in a mold with inner tube, mold closed and paste- like rubber pressure injected, cured for several hours and presto. What amazed me the most, each tyre could be 'renewed' over 10 times, thinking about (then popular) Boeing 727 airplanes flew / landed several times in any day, several runways, landing roughly @ 160 mph, tires not turning until sudden contact w/ runway's surface. 0 to 160 mph in seconds, not to mention temperature issues + loads weighing several tonnes. Quite a bit of RD + engineering involved, though!!.
