Actually, Badger, EA wasn’t the first group of people to call droids “Clankers”. During “Star Wars The Clone Wars”, which came out before EA made battlefront, the clone troopers were calling the droids “Clankers”.

A little Star Wars lore from a nerd: The Clones call them clankers, and the 'slur' originated in Republic Commandos. But The Clone Wars TV series kept it going and brought it to the "mainstream." So Lucas(arts) made up the 'slur' against droids, Cartoon Network made it popular, and EA carried on the legacy.

In my opinion, it's *probably* because RAID pays more, compared to some other companies. So he either takes the route of taking big sponsorships at a slower rate, or posting videos with smaller ones everytime (almost). Like he said, less sponsorships this year, but if the video's good and the person watching it can enjoy it, despite the ad, then there should be no problem with having a sponsor for every video, really.

Looking back, EA had the droids called “Clankers” is from the Clone Wars. So EA and Dice didn’t make a slur for them, it was from the famous Clone Wars
