Love it. I haven’t gotten super geeked out over an RC video in a while. But watching you drive it on the trailer along the gravel path, then down to the boat launch was just awesome.🤩😂😂 I was laughing and smiling the entire time. I’ve never been much of an RC boat guy. Mainly because my buddy had a traxxas nitro RC boat in the early 2000’s. But it was a nightmare every time we took it to his lake house. Always flooded, was insanely crazy to keep it tuned and running, he always flipped it over. But this video has me thinking differently about boats now. Great video, Mark.

Mark , now you need to build you a rescue air boat. Ton of fun to build and very simple. It’s nice to retrieve the boat if it doesn’t self right. Oh and make sure battery doesn’t come loose. If it does it won’t self right😂 ask me how I know lol. ( went swimming)

You can bend the rear trim tabs down a little at a time to keep the front end down. Takes a little bit of time but you can get it to handle the way you want it to.

His drive strut was trimmed to high in this video, that's why it was chime walking so bad.

Strut angle is used for rough water or smooth water. The trim tabs are used for handling characteristics. Strut angle will not correct chine walking!

@@user-sq6hm8qs5s I beg to differ. I've been boating for most my life and have done quite a few purpose built top speed boats. Strut angle will absolutely contribute to and/or fix chime walk. In Mark's case it looks like his strut was adjusted to high and it was causing the boat to ride far to dry for how sharp the keel is. He could adjust the trim tabs to add a wider contact patch but the stock Spartan trim tabs are too far out to contact the water at high speeds. His best bet would be to lower the strut angle to put more of the bow into the water.

I use my Summit and programmed TSM knob to Throttle trim. Just grab menu tree off internet for remote. That way you can turn knob to hold rc as you launch boat. It works perfect for me. Hope that helps. I have v1 Spartan with some upgrades on homemade trailer and Highly modified brushless Summit.

Glad to see your first boat is self righting, I would hate to see you get soured by the difficulty’s us rc boaters have to deal with. I can tell you boats get boring fast, the reason we stick with it is because we like to make a good thing like the Traxxas boat you have-better, faster and then even better and faster all while increasing the handling/attitude. You will find it’s an art.

That boat trailer is great. I'm not a fan of that rubber water jacket on the motor. It works but leaks a lot of water into the hull. So, figure $45 to replace it with an aluminum one.

Really nice boat and trailer. FINALLY Traxxas came with an SR boat. I'd rather have the Proboat Sonic Wake though. After watching videos on both, the Sonic Wake handles better at high speeds. It also looks like Traxxas stole Proboat's Sonic Wake SR feature. Lol.... I'm sure both boats are fun in their own way though. I have the Proboat Recoil 2 Heatwave. I love it! My next is to upgrade to the Sonic Wake. Good video as always.

Amazon has $200 inflatable stand up Paddle boards. They are flat inflated and very stiff due to cross stitching between the upper deck and bottom. They deflate and fit in a large back pack. Sit on it with legs in water paddling and never worry about recovery again.

we just run ours when i take the kids out fishing on the pontoon. that way we can always go get it and you get to do more speed runs. sometimes i let the kids run the rc boat and i follow it with the boat really get moving @@TheZX11

If I decide to replace my homebuilt trailer (inspired by the Summit) and my first edition Spartan with the new Spartan SR and Traxxas Trailer, the tractor will be my Trx 6 or my Scx 3 Gladiator (I have my Gladiator 80th anniversary 1 /1 in the garage 🥰🤩🏁👍💪) to have a better scale relationship with the Spartan 👍

I have a couple of boats. My first and only Traxxas boat is a Blast and it's a piece of junk. I think it took about a minute to shred the prop shaft coupling. Didn't even air it out. Just gassed it and poof! It turned into black cotton candy. I got a replacement part and the same thing happened. If you want a fun, fast, durable, go anywhere boat check out the Thrasher by Streamline. That thing is well built.
