Your videos are always a joy to watch. I know this is basically your waking life, but your work and content is one of the best representations of real car work on UKposts, or anywhere frankly. It shows, nearly in real time, exactly what it takes to do this stuff. Both actually showing the "boring" stuff (I don't find it boring), and bringing your experience that's ever growing to projects, you often present critical tips and tricks that often stump many hobbyists. The level of detail and care of your work always impresses.

Great stuff Sarah. Maybe a helpful tip... I just tried some Berryman's Chem-Dip. I bought 3/4 of a gallon, not very expensive. I soaked some 50 year old small block pistons that were completely covered in baked on carbon. 24 hours in the Chem-Dip and they looked brand new. Carbon just washed off with paint thinner. Those valve covers would clean up in no time. It did not stain the metal.

When the engine hoist cylinder is at the bottom of its stroke and you need it extended, close the valve, grab the arm by the hook end and just lift it up in the air and hold it for a second or 2. Wham Bam thank you mam, it’s up in the air and you didn’t have to pump it 500 times!!!

To clean small parts in my ultrasonic cleaning machine, I put them in a "lingerie bag" that are available in the laundry department of stores like Walmart. I have also used several large glass bottles so I can do an initial cleaning followed by a second cleaning. Recently, I found that soaking greasy, grimy parts in Zep Industrial Cleaner (purple bottle) worked as well as the alcohol/acetone/xylene mixture I had been using before.

@@twopointeight6twinplugmaybe the dumbest part of this engine, taking the intake manifold off to replace the starter. Not as dumb as the Ford Edge V6, when the water pump fails it leaks coolant into the engine oil, maybe ruining the bearings if not fixed soon.
