Let's not forget the original Macintosh in 1984 cost $2,495. Or over $7,000 today. So the Apple Vision Pro is half the price for technology that's arguably a larger leap forward.

The original Macintosh was an extreme innovation in a time yet under developed for this. The Apple Vision is just a very well made product that already exist... and heavily overpriced in a time of severe economical decline. I might actually be that this product will be a big step in Apples fall from great heights.

Yep. Spatial computing is the future and it''s Gen 1 product that is extremely expensive to make that is not really meant to be commercially viable as true development work can't really begin until you get the devices into the hands of their intended market. This thing has 12 cameras, 6 microphones, iris scanner/tracking, 3D movies, 3D camera, spatial audio, and every single UKpostsr/Blogger who has experienced the demo is stating that it's exactly how advertised, Marques Brownlee even described it as "magic" which is never done.

I recall reading an insider/analyst's hot take few years ago, claiming that Apple's first mixed reality headset would be a mere dress rehearsal for the true spectacle (no pun intended) set to arrive in the later half of this decade: a compact, stylish pair of "spatial computing" eyewear. Basically, the Apple Watch of eyeglasses, with standard frames designed in-house by Apple and premium frames likely produced in partnership with Ray-ban, Versace, Oakley, etc. So, if Vision Pro is a first generation device for enthusiasts and professionals only-one that most consumers will meme about and never, ever wear-their second generation Vision product will surely be the one for the masses. He knows it’s prohibitive. Apple’s pricing it this way to make it seem better than it is, because they’re behind. Meta has many games, social apps, has sold 20 million units. You could buy a Meta Quest 2 for the sales tax on a Vision Pro. The Quest 3 will be 1/7th the price, and Quest Pro is less than 1/3rd.

@@jeremyf9124Make it seem better”? Quest Pro has 1/3 the resolution of the Vision and yet 4x the latency. It used a mid-level Snapdragon processor; Vision has a MacBook pro processor. Every review I’ve seen says the passthrough is blurry making it impossible to read other displays. Quest Pro was given a 4/10 by the Verge - “I cannot imagine making a business decision in this software”. The CNET reviewer said the desktop mirroring was worse than using regular displays, and the lag made it nearly impossible to be productive or even enjoy watching video. It has “few optimized apps”; Vision hasn’t launched yet obviously but it’s compatible with all iOS apps (they just need basic UI optimization) and can instantly mirror anything run on the Mac. 5:48 This has been my point to everyone crying about the price. I also mention how much the first plasma TV’s were.

Exactly. This is not an accessory. They have mentioned that the Vision Pro is the “most advanced personal computer”, which is now obviously true. A similar product is priced at $7000, this is half that and more polished.

Well said lads👍….ofcourse gamers are complaining about the price & trying to compare this to the Sony PlayStation VR2😂😂😂..VR2 is a great device for VIDEOGAMING but this Pro Vision is an entirely different animal in VR & AR…..congratulations to Apple for taking another big step tin technology & paving the way forward
