Unless you have easy access to a laundrette you need a washing machine, drying is easy as you just put up a line and hang the items out to dry. Agree about turning it into a community, that is what I would like to do if I could (will never be able to afford it) to give those temporarily down on their luck a step back up again. If you add in gardens to become self sufficient in vegetables with chickens for eggs as well then you are well on your way to a community not unlike the small villages/hamlets of old where you all came together. I would make the building slightly bigger, say 4m x 4m because that way it is easier to fit in a downstairs sleeping area, a tiny kitchen (you can always add a pantry/larder on to one side outdoors) and enough space to work in as well. This is what I am hoping to do for myself (artist and dress maker/designer) and having an attic to store seasonal clothing/bedding etc in would be a great solution to the ever present problem of storage.

I agree about no sleeping loft, use a futon downstairs, but where do you put the closet? That's really the only drawback I notice about this little dwelling. Otherwise I like everything about it, right down to the color scheme. Very nicely done.
