I'm also in my 60s and *mostly* not a fan of rap - at least the "gangsta" stuff because it's usually so negative and vulgar. (Gotta admit I did kinda like Gangsta's Paradise, though.) I recently discovered country-infused rap, which I like to call redneck rap, and there is a huge difference. Stuff by folks like Colt Ford, Big SMO, The Lacs, and a few others is often about wholesome values like God, hard work, family, and patriotism. Plus, you often hear real drums (instead of a phony electronic percussion sound) and some lead guitar. I am somewhat a fan of John Rich and most of what I've heard from Tom McDonald is thematically worthwhile. This song/video is no exception, and they make a good duo.

But, Tom is continuing the tradition of creating good country rap crossover that originated with guys like Bubba Soarxxx and has become extremely popular in recent years. At least he isn't just subverting the genre like Lil Nas X did. I didn't se any Yee Yee stuff on Tom's video, so that was a plus. Hopefully Tom does more of this and also helps bring attention to those great artist that have been doing this sound for the past decade+.

@@thegeorgiacreekwalker491 I did the Algorithm on the likes and views. Earlier, they had 52k likes but 46k views. So obviously, they are shadow banning the track, and will not let the song trend. But the algorithm shows at 52k likes they were at 1.2 million views and change. So this would of done easily 2.5 million views in a day and would of been trending top 10. Funny how that works when you live in a woke world! Happy St. Pats day.
