I'm Irish and hurling is completely mainstream (Hurling is Irish). I play it almost everyday, matches are shown on tv every Sunday during the season and one of the biggest stadiums in Europe was built for hurling and Gaelic Football. There's a club for it in every town and I broke my ankle while playing a game.

The most unusual sport I can think of? Handegg: nobody knows the exact rules for it, not the watchers, not the players and not even the referees, since the game is stopped every 10 seconds for the refs to debate something or another. And some people call it "football" for some stupid reason, when the game has nothing to do with either the feet, or is it played with an actual ball.

I used to sled on shovels when it was icy out. Because I was stupid lol. But wow, I didn't know it was a sport. And huh... Extreme Ironing? Oil Wrestling? Weird...

And they say Esports arn't sports.
