Can you do a top 5 gaming laptop 4080 with support to 64gb of ram? Lenovo and Asus rog in those configuration have 32gb max for about 2k dollars or euro. While with a little more you can achieve a 64gb. Those I believe is their only defect.

Speaking of your laptop deal link, I found the 2022 Acer Helios 300 browsing Newegg last night and bookmarked it to then look at your link and find it there, so I used.your link to buy it, hoping you get an affiliate incentive. That 2022 Helios is an amazing deal for a gpu that, in most circumstances, is quite a lot better than a 4060 along with a better quality screen for about the same price or lower. @@dungeondeezdragons4242Ty very much ❤ like you said i solved it, it was an issue with the mouse when I first started the game and I couldn't use it, then I turned off the touchpad so I could use it. And after turning off my laptop I couldn't use the mouse anymore I tried everything but it doesn't work when I searched for it in Google many people had problem with their mouse in this game so I thought it was the game but then I got a new charger for the mouse and everything is fine now

3:05 I think the reason they called it a Slim 5 is because it uses Intel H or AMD HS CPUs rather than the Pro 5/7 Intel HX or AMD HX CPUs, which do require thicker chassis to cool properly. Personally, I prefer the AMD HS CPUs as they are so good in terms of battery life compared to HX CPU from both brands.

i've been watching your channel ever since my laptop started struggling with the games i was trying to play on it in february this year, when i decided to start planning and saving for a new laptop. your videos have been amazing in helping make my decision, so thank you so much jarrod! i planned on getting the lenovo legion 5 on black friday but the pro went on a massive sale in the main laptop supplier in my country last week and i was able to make the decision with no worries or second guessing thanks to your videos. i am so happy with my purchase and even your "setting up your new gaming laptop" video helped me too, so i am endlessly grateful for your channel. i will be recommending it to anyone who asks, and i'll be back when i need to make a big tech purchase again.

Iirc Lenovo and Asus are the only ones that make limiting charging to 60/80% battery easy. This is a huge deal for people who usually use their laptop plugged in but need to bring them about sometimes. Also students.

@@muhamadrizal6395fps is mostly improved by cpu and gpu which are built in to the laptop im pretty sure, so if your worried about fps just be careful about which cpu and gpu you choose cause it cant be upgraded i think

I just purchase the LOQ15 with 4050 and amd ryzen 7 for 1000 euro,romanian price, and it feels very good, the design feel smooth and from what games i tested it perform very well. I think LOQ15 is definetly the best buy for a gaming laptop who can run the majority of games at higher fps. But is a great option too for someone who just want a performance laptop for their basic task and play games time to time. Your review about this laptop and the video about what are the best cheapest laptops to buy were very usefull for me to decide what laptop to buy thank you for your work and quality❤

I just got the LOQ 15 with 4060 for £899 in the UK and I'm just loving it. The performance is incredible, the screen is amazing, (specially because Im coming from a 720p laptop, yea thats true) and the design for me is perfect, It looks like a normal laptop and gamer at the same time. Also the keyboard typing is amazing. The fans are quite loud when in perfomance mode but i think its pretty normal for a gaming laptop and doesnt bother me. Your reviews are fantastic and your recommendations helped me. Many thanks

If Lenovo made their Legion 7i from 2022 the 2023 Legion 9i, I think it would have topped the list. Honestly, I think its sad to see many brands not sending Jarrod their laptops to review, most notably the Mini LED Acer Predator Helios 16, because it is a really nice screen and has a very nice price to performance ratio for the RTX 4060 and 4080 configurations, the former with the QHD+ IPS screen and the latter with the mentioned QHD+ Mini-LED screen. If I wasn't waiting for the Framework Laptop 16 to finally ship, I probably would keep the top of the line Helios 16 I have, but I guess we can't have everything in life... 😮💨

Acer really sucks this year when it comes to sending review samples to (serious and objective) reviewers. It’s almost like they don’t want them tested and evaluated. Most recent example is the Triton 17x that no one has done a review of so far

After a full 25 years of potato computers, I got myself the Legion Slim 5 with 7840HS and RTX4060. And I can say that it has been an absolute blast. Performance is as advertised, and stable. Build is really good, screen is good.

@@fyiispy8014 Oh no like over heating issues? I don't know if Im having the same. I mostly play with performance mode on. Turbo is just way to loud. I am having an issue where all of sudden my keyboard does not respond. I dont know if there is a keyboard lock button I am pressing. So far so good. I do not at all regret it. Such an amazing machine.

Hey Jarrod, thank for repping Ethereal Darkness, I've discovered an absolute gem after seeing their merch in one of your videos. Also, I'll assume you didn't include the slim7 because of its pricing? But just fyi (if you did not know already) the AMD version went for sale last week for ~1220usd after using JTDEAL6 with the 4060. It went out of stock within 2 days but whoever got it, got an amazing deal! As for the slim5i OLED, what do you think about burn in? I have very little experience with OLEDs and it was my only concern that led to me not buying it last week.

Thank you so much for these videos ! At the end in this Black Friday Sale I bought a Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58-56CH. I was tempted to buy Lenovo LOQ but I have had recently a bad experience with Lenovo's Laptops. I had a Lenovo Ideapad 3 and less than a year I have problems that it turns window black. Reading, I see that is a common problem in Lenovo's Laptop with video card :c

This is a common problem with the ideapad. Dave 2 touched on how rubbish it is. It is true laptop brands come with their fair share of problems, that's not going to change. However when you look at the news mess I just mentioned, you would see that the Lenovo (specifically Legion line) are doing the best. I'm sorry for your experience, it could happen to any one of us.

Taken M16 2023 with 4090, Liquid Metal cooled (both CPU and GPU), flashed 175w vBIOS, replaced termal paste on memories, put 5200Mhz Ram on it (this is max frequency supported by motherboard) tuned on MSI Afterburner to not hit power limit. It is a beast now with 77ºC on GPU and 80º on CPU while gaming

I wouldn't agree, the strix has better cooling and amd 16 core chips. That said if you want a nice looking laptop, you are kind of stuck between Zephyrus and Lenovo laptops, razer laptops are just too expensive

@@notfunny3397 The AMD model is using a very old chassis that I broke the ribbon cables on. TWICE. I wouldn't buy a Strix AMD model because it feels like an afterthought compared to the Intel models which get a redesigned chassis with a much better screen.

I have the 16 inch Legion Slim 5i and I have to say, compared to my old Surface Pro 6, the experience was simply mind-blowing! I might consider upgrading the RAM and storage in the future!

I got the Asus M16 with the 4090 and tbh besides it getting hot in the top part there is no issues it’s only loud if u use Turbo mode and tbh while wearing a headset there is no issues with it

Hello, thanks for the list! I'm an HQ Player / Upsampler user, and I'm looking for a laptop that will not interrupt me with long music-listening sessions on my open-back headphones (noise) Upsampling in the HQ player requires some power... I'm looking for a laptop with a good cooling system and a reasonable power. Which one would You recommend? Maybe separate episode not for gamers... But for HQ player users? If thats to long subject... Witch laptop has best cooling system to performance ratio ? Thanks a lot !

@@N.R.K.9 I had a Omen 15 before, for a long time and from my experience it was pretty good. The Omen 16 Ryzen version has very less heating(compared to the legions) and runs games like Baldur's gate on high graphics with ease.

Just pulled the trigger on the Strix G16, really hoping it's worth it, since I'm looking to stick with it for the next 5 years. I was between the F15 with Intel 12700h and rtx4070, but the Strix seamed to be a bit more future proof with DDR5 and 13 gen intel. Final decision was when the Strix was $150 cheaper than the F15, so I hope it was worth the 15% - 20% less GPU performance. Love your videos and they really helped me get a lot more info for muy purchase. Keep up the amazing job you're doing and greetings from Mexico!

Been loving it from the start. Playing WZ no problem at 95+fps and found that even Alan Wake 2 runs with Ray Tracing on quality at 50+FPS. DLSS is awesome!@@WEZFYKAN regarding your question on jet engine, the answer is NO, not at all. Performance mode is amazingly quiet and runs games as mentioned earlier.

Don't know if I could recommend Asus ROG. On 2021 I bought my Asus ROG RTX 3060 I9 for 1800$ and I've suffered greatly from that laptop. At first I got it with a flickering screen and whenever I closed the lid and popped it back up, the screen wouldn't always "wake up" and stayed in his black-screened sleep mode which had me forcing a restart every time I wanted it to wake up. So I took it to the lab and they replaced almost everything. When I got it back from the lab, the screen issue appeared to have been fixed, although for some reason the speakers got busted so I needed to take it back to the lab and replace the speakers as well. Got it from the lab and not a year went by before the screen started flickering as well, plus 4 buttons in my keyboard (A, Q, Tab, 1) - just stopped working. In addition to that, my laptop suffered excessive over-heating and whenever I put it on "Performance", even video games that did not require much GPU were acting up and didn't work smoothly at all. I had 1 year insurance and those 1800$ have gone to waste along with that garbage laptop. I'm officially done with Asus and will never buy any laptops they'd offer.

Got the Lenovo LOQ 15 Ryzen 7 7840HS yesterday for $699.99. Lenovo said it can take up to 32gb of RAM. But I read on some forums that it can work with 64gb. I got 2 32gb 4800MHz sticks in there and it works fine. So, I have 64gb of RAM. I also added a 2TB NVME SSD to the 512gb that comes with the laptop (it has 2 slots). Nice deal from Best Buy. The best laptop for the money.

I did a black Friday deal on the Lenovo website where I was able to "build my own" with a Legion Pro 5i as the base. I upgraded to an i9 13900HX cpu, 32gb of ddr5 RAM at 5600Mhz, a WQXGA monitor with 500 nits @ 240Hz, and a Nvidia GeForce 4070 graphics card. That came in at $1642.93 before taxes. I did not upgrade the hard drive, as I have an Nvme 2tb drive that I will just take out of my old computer and put in the second hard drive slot when it arrives. It did come with a 512GB SSD hard drive, so I will use that to house my programs.

I can't find anything in Canada with a decent screen - nothing with OLED, no mini-LED options and these 5 - especially the Lenovo models - are pretty meh displays. Any suggestions on really good displays? I've had the Asus Vivobook Pro 16 OLED for a couple of months and it is a good value for creators/gaming with an OLED 3.2K screen - but it continually overheats and shuts down. It's in for repair again right now but I have a feeling they can't fix it. What would compare to that?

Which would you choose between a 2023 Lenovo legion slim 5 with a 4060 at 1100€, or a 2022 Razer blade 17, with 3060, both with 240hz 1440p screen, but the razer has 1tb instead of 512gb. It's meant for work with imaging although not too performance intense and some light gaming. Oh and both have 3 years warranty.

proud owner of LOQ 16 here, yes the performance and features given in this model is unreal, its like a legion but without the gamer looks, only the ugly LOQ logo sticks out and the heatsinks are blue, but thats welcome tbh. compared to the nitro lineup, its an absolute steal and might become the best selling budget option topping victus, tuf and other lower priced options

Question. Im trying to decide on what to get for an upgrade for video editing. I'm thinking a 4070 or 4080. My my guess is that if I go laptop I should max at 4070 and if I want any higher I should go desktop. Do you think a laptop is a waste at 4080/4090 for cooling and maximizing the GPU purpose??? Should I just get a maxed out 4070???
