OK Ive been a qualified electronics technician for nearly over 45 years. I see all your comments about the fuse wire but if you do what Daniele did, which is to use a very thin wire then test it to see what current it blows at, then thats valid. If however you use really heavy wire compared to what was originally in the fuse then thats a really bad idea. How do you all think they make fuses? I didnt hear anone saying something bad about opening the plug pack... what about the capacitors inside, what if they dont treat it right. What if they plug it in without putting it back into the plastic cae. Lets get real. these videos all need some small ampunt of common sense. They are rarely going to be watched by people not learning a bit about electronics. Keep up the good work Daniele.

If you have fuses in equipment that must be working, buy spare fuses in advance. The emergency repair you made is dangerous.

Please don't replace fuses with wire, this is a *bad* idea.
@albertolaurella9168
@albertolaurella9168 2 роки тому
Generally speaking yeah, especially if you can simply replace it, but as a quick *momentary* fix it can work, more than once I just kinda connected the ends through wire just to see if that's the issue or whatnot
@saurus738
@saurus738 2 роки тому
@@albertolaurella9168 still not a recommended way to troubleshoot, if the wire replacement amp rate was higher, your device/equipment may suffer.
@jeanlesueur6936
@jeanlesueur6936 2 роки тому
@@albertolaurella9168 No this is dangerous, even for momentary use. In most case, when a fuse is blown, there is a real default like a short circuit. Guess what happens if you make a bad fuse for it. You may end up with fire, burning metal projections and even projection of cracked glass. Believe me, the glass tube may explode in some cases, I have already saw this.

1:45 Rather than soldering wires I recommend using the crimp sleeves. It is IMO faster and easier and you don't need any cable holder. 7:20 - never do this. The fuse is safety device to avoid damaging the stuff behind it. By bypassing it you risk the damage of device in better case. In worse case you risk the fire and your own life. The recharger should be never repaired for safety reasons.

For aluminium you should be able to solder it if you submerge it in oil, polish the metal surface (e.g. with a knife blade), then apply solder *while keeping the aluminium covered in oil.* If air touches the metal for even an instant the solder-resistant (sapphire) layer will form. For soldering onto aluminium sheet a drop or two of oil on the soldering location should do the trick.

If, one is in desperate need to repair a glass fuse, just remove the caps, and put the thread inside. The fuses are not vacuum bulbs, the thread is meant to "burn". The glass around the fuse, is just to prevent fires, and also to prevent metal particles to splatter over the rest o the electronics. (No, still, no, there is never vacuum in fuses. If there is vacuum, it's a bulb, not a fuse =P) Oh, and another thing, it's called a 'Soldering iron'. Tin welder is a "Engrish" word, commonly used in places like Aliexpress, Bangood and the likes. Not the correct word, but still a word to know, when looking for soldering irons.

@DanieleTartaglia
@DanieleTartaglia 2 роки тому
