What's really odd about Alexander Rybak's return is the fact that he won Semi-Final 2 to end up at 15th place

To be fair, Semi final 2 of 2018 wasn’t as competitive as Semi final 1, so it makes sense that he got first place. But when competed against songs from Semi final 1, he wasn’t there.

Returning winners are usually doomed to get pretty low lol bit it's amazing for the nostalgia. Just like Alexander's one. It was so much fun seeing him back on stage 🥺

There are so many others. Starting with Corry Brokken winning in 1957, and then finishing bottom of the table in 1958, going through a lot of other instances, like Selma who was second in 1999 and didn't qualify in 2005 (if I remember correctly). Charlotte Nilsson/Perrelli won 1999 and then barely managed to make the final in 2008.

You forgot to add Elnur Huseynov. He represented Azerbaijan in 2008 and replaced 8th place(song: day after day). Then He represented Azerbaijan in 2015 and replaced 12th place.(song:hour of the wolf)

For me honestly Ira Losco is an exception, she came in 12th which is still pretty good, other countries wish for a result like that, not to forget how high she was in the Juries, but in all, I agree with the video :)

*In 2008 there was a rule that 9 country will qualify in final and the 10th will be chosen by the juries. Charlotte finished in 12th place and my country Macedonia was 10th. Juries choose Sweden instead of Macedonia so with other words Sweden didn't even qualify in final but the juries saved them.*
