I don't think it's quite that, it's just that we have been living for quite some time with a culture industry that is perfectly capable of taking any attempt to critique any aspects of society into a commodity that it will sell back to you and thereby completely undermine and trivialize your initial message and Pyrion has Nirvana the wrong way round because he sees them as just part of the gang of fakes that realize this and copy the aesthetic of counter culture without actually standing for anything. So it's kinda funny as in he validates Cobain's feeling he had been completely assimilated and rendered benign as not only can Pyrion not tell the difference, but he clearly didn't think anything other than they sound cool at the time. I mean for fucks sake if you listen to Krist Novoselic political views since it appears even he wasn't aware. Agree 100 %, but that's why this podcast is good. Three very similar yet very different men, that are "old friends" talking about various, sometimes very niche subject. That is the exact reason I listen to this podcast.
