The largest polar bear would be 1800~ pounds. The average male hippo would be between 3500 and 10,000 pounds. How do you expect a polar bear to take on something that would be at least ( if it were a small hippo vs the largest possible polar bear) twice it’s size. Hippo Wins every time.

Dude a Hippo would absolutely annihilate a Polar Bear. Polar bears cap out at around 800kg where as Hippos can reach 1500.

Pyrions definitely getting some weird propaganda about Australia, I've lived in Australia for the better part of my live, I've never had a single encounter with wildlives because I live in a city. Much like if I say I won't go to UK because I dont want to get stabbed by roadman; a bad excuse.

Pyrion addressed that aspect of it. If you're going to travel to the literal other side of the planet why would you just stay in a city the whole time? What would be the point? He lives in one of greatest cities in the world already. If you're going to visit a country then you visit the country, not just one tiny sanitised part of it that's pretty much exactly like the place you live.

@@RufusOmegaso he’d never go visit NY? Because NY is nothing like London, it makes London look quaint and old fashioned. If i were to visit Australia from NY, I don’t really care about the outback. I’m fine in a major city doing local stuff and visiting the beach. Australia is low on my list of places to go but most of the places I do want to go I’m going for the city and related history. I’d like to go to Istanbul for the city, not to drive out to some rural town in Anatolia to stare at some bugs.

It's not though. Australia has more species of venomous or otherwise lethal animals than anywhere else on the planet, except, perhaps, the South American rainforests. Add to that the fact that even the climate actively tries to kill you and you have a place where nobody in their right mind would go.

Life is about risk management; there are times where you need to take risks and there are times where you can avoid them. Avoiding taking pointless risks for no gain is not irrational fear, it's just not being a complete moron.
