Yes. Some of my ancestors fled Switzerland and came here to escape persecution--they were Mennonites. Even as a Christian, I 100 % support and will defend separation of church and state. A state religion and draconian laws will never change hearts and minds.

May I ask....exactly what did you find disgusting? If all I saw was this presentation of Joy Reid where they have not even shown the public the uncut original clip where the man simply spoke about what he was promoting...I might feel just as you feel. ....however I have watched the 3 minute video ..uncut and unadulterated...which is why I can calmly say....this video on this channel is no information....it is a twisted presentation aimed at making you hate the person n be filled with disgust. You mentioned that you attend Sunday school....but are you committed to Jesus Christ (which includes what He thinks is right) ? Sorry to sound too religious. It is the Bible of God and his son Jesus, who was written by the deciples Jesus chose. They are the only chosen. Not a state, not a country, not a man. He is a false prophet looking for profits to line his pockets. My church hands out free bibles to it congregation. The Bible is free to read in a public library. The Constitution and Bill of Rights, etc...are also free to read in a library or even online for free. And the fact he states this is the only Bible that is endorsed by him is blasphemous. As if to say the Bible that has been around for centuries is not good enough. He's looking for money and votes.

One day while he was smoking college stuff I asked him if he really believed in God and depicted literally in the Bible. It gives the impression that the Gov is favoring one religion over another, or religion over non-religion. The Gov must remain neutral in matters of religion. Keeping the Church out of State means that no particular Denomination is to be promoted by the Government. Freedom of worship according to the Constitution means that each person is free to believe in what his preferred Christian Denomination teaches. It was never intended that non Christians be protected by the Constitution. Religious tolerance ( tolerating non Christians ) is a late interpretation of the Constitution .

It was problematic, to say the least. It’s more problematic now, after years of watching MAGA politicians gradually say the quiet parts out loud. “Make America Pray Again”, though…that’s just plain chilling. You can invite them to pray. Or persuade them. Or urge them. Or teach them. But, “make” them? How do you go about “making” someone pray? I can’t think of any non-violent way. Can you?
