He was awarded one. He was awarded the Air Force Cross, which was upgraded to the MOH. There have been 19 men with 2 Medals of Honor. Chapman received one, but that doesn't take anything away from his service of course.

The rushing of the first bunker was why he was awarded this one. But what he did afterwards is grounds for him to be posthumously awarded a second Medal Of Honor. This man literally fired every last round that he had on him that night before he ultimately died from the wounds. They said both his rifle and his pistol were completely empty. He went hands on in hand to hand combat while be mortally wounded and still killed enemy combatants with his own hands and knife. Passed out and they thought he had died but somehow found enough strengths to continue to engage the enemy killing as many as he could before he sadly took his very last breathe.
