Explosive handling was not a simple job and not something you can learn in a few days. But go on about something you know nothing about OK.

Yeah this is probably going to be more and more standard in the war. Especially as the more skilled people naturally have unfortunately been killed so far and by the time the war has ended, Ukraine and the foreign volunteers will be working their way down the line to the more inexperienced people. So it is up to them to train even harder and faster as it goes on to get up to scratch. Of course Ukraine needs more and more de-miners in order to clear the roads, forests and fields which will be crucial in the months and years ahead considering how many are probably laid each day. Every week they sit in the fields is more time wasted that agriculture needs in order to rebuild the country’s economy. Considering how many billions it will need to save it economy after the war, they unfortunate to take as many risks as possible to clear as many of these deadly time bombs as they can. Is quite shameful that he didn’t seem to realise at the time before he left so that it would be his responsibility to follow any orders given, and that could include land mine clearing, especially as he wasn’t doing it any more dangerously than people had to do in WWII. But thankfully, based on what we learned at the end of this video, he must’ve realised this as well and realised that it was selfish of him to think that way initially and has returned considering everyone else doesn’t have that kind of luxurious choice. I hope he’s still alright and helping his best he can.

You can volunteer in ways that are not the legion, like rebuilding or aid in Poland / Western Ukraine. But yes the Legion is a unit in the Ukranian army that you sign a contract to join... If you join the British army you can't run away without telling anyone as that is desertion, let alon in a warzone with a fight for the countries existance. You can leave though, you saw these guys were given official sign off... They're not throwing people in as cannon fodder, that serves no purpose and Ukraine cares about their soldiers unlike Russia. A lot has changed since the chaotic start of the war, things are more organised for volunteers.

Ukraine has M14 rifles they mostly use for training but handed some of them out to foreign volunteers since they lacked rifles from handling out their stocks to civilians in the beginning.

From what it seems there's difference stuff floating around difference regions. I've heard some places you can't find 7.62x39, some places there's plenty of 5.56, some none. This isn't a standard conflict. There's politics, palm greasing, and gun running bureaucracy influencing how and what gets where and when.
