I'll tell you one thing, as someone born and raised in sub Sahara Africa, and now living in Canada, I would never move to the USA. I'd be isolated there, I would actively look for middle or high socioeconomic areas with as many immigrants as possible. Let's say since we don't know the intention of the girls, we shall assume they weren't intentionally trying to kill, just trying to rob. So, with that general assumption, if I hold someone at gunpoint, personally knowing I'm not trying to kill someone, and an altercation arises between me and the victim, I end up pulling the trigger and ending their life. I personally know it was an accident but it doesn't matter, I commited murder. The girls threatened Mr. Anwar with mace but never attacked him. The bad driving caused the death. Derek Chauvin, on the other hand, deliberately (NOT accidentally) placed his knee on Mr. Floyd's neck (while handcuffed), preventing oxygen & blood flow, causing his death. They could have at least checked his pulse, tried to assess his injuries, and called 911. Most states have laws that protect you from liability if you are trying to render first aid. I highly doubt the man’s family would try to go after someone who was trying to save his life.

My belief is like yours, if they're mature enough to take a life, they're mature enough to rot in adult prison.
