Today I found out Japanese people call "flathead" screwdrivers "minus drivers" 😄 You could explain why the band being that way is incorrect - the idea is the wheel normally spins forward, so if you set your band so it's also pointing forward - it is more likely to snag something and be ripped off. Having the band pointed backwards means there's nothing to snag. Motorcycle clip-type master links work the same way. Great video, very clear and well shot.

Fantastic! Finally you can change the joints dusters with only the hijack and basic tools even at the parking lot! You don't even need to knock out the ball joint, which is pretty hard to assemble on it's place. That's a nice thing for greedy car owners and DIY lovers like me (you maintain by yourself and don't spend much money), and looks pretty easy for anyone who can use bacis tools. Will there be a dusters for European cars in assortment? (Especially for Opel Astra, i know that amount of Astras is still running across the Japan). Greetings from Russia!

@killerdinamo082 роки тому
@Steve Vento Why isn't this the right way? In the shown example the boots weren't even ruptured, so no contaminants have got into the joint. What's best, to wait for them to crack and then replace the boots (if the joint is still good) because let's be honest, nobody will take them off just for a preventive service, or to do such a simple and accessible job from time to time to keep the joints, and sometimes even the whole car since the work and replacing costs for the joints could surpass the value of such a small key car? And in extreme cases, perhaps you've got a BMW, good luck taking out the joints on those even with propper tools 😅.
@eltonnoway78642 роки тому
@@killerdinamo08 You are 100% correct! It doesn't have anything to do with being lazy or cheap. If a person doesn't have the tools or knowledge to pull an axle and CV joint, or can't afford the expense of having the work done... and if they catch the failure early and are positive there are no contaminants in the joint then these kits are awesome! FACT: I was in the process of rotating my tires and inspecting the boots when I discovered a stress crack in the passenger side boot. No grease was leaking from the crack as it had not completely failed yet. However, when massaging the boot and pulling on the crack to check how bad it was the crack split open and out came some grease. Damn! The good news was I discover this video and these kits. (Even better, I actually found one on Amazon, although it wasn't the same make or quality of the kits in this video) but was similar in design and it got the job done. I did the repair over a year ago and haven't had any problems. It's still holding up great.
