She invites Lucy to her show that night and Lucy in turn convinces Mr. Mooney to attend with her in order to cure his insomnia by hypnosis. Pat's hair style and cat eye glasses were funnier than the show itself! Merry Christmas to you and Troy. edit: Speaking of Lucy, "The Pleasant Peasant" was the name of the operetta that Lucy wrote in the I Love Lucy episode "The Operetta". It was the episode where Lucy played the snaggle toothed witch, and Desi sang "I am the good prince Lancelot, I like to sing and dance a lot".

Im a music nerd and noticed the Pat Collins record is on Crescendo Records. That's a very prestigious independent label.. If I remember correctly, along with great jazz artists, they also did alot of novelty and comedy albums back then, so it doesn't surprise me she's on the label. And the label was based in Hollywood.

21:18 I had this record in 2nd grade (1969/1970 school year) . It was my first non-kiddie / non-Disney record . I brought it to school (we were allowed to bring in records during 'play period' and listen to them ) and as I was handling the record- my teacher told me "always handle the record by the edges" . Later that summer- at home , I was eating some watermelon and my hands were "juicy" but the record was over - and time to FLIP it. Holding it by the edges with wet hands caused it to fall (to my horror) and the record then had a big chip missing from the first 2 songs !! I remember being REALLY pissed off at the teacher for telling me how to hold a record ; however I continued to listen to the record in its reduced format from then on in. The cover featuring the plastic geometric discs were actually not before your time (I think we are the same age?) and, I cannot remember what they were called. Often these snap together colored discs were used in SCHOOLS and brought in on a cart when it was raining during recess , by a teacher's aid. The game cart OFTEN had Booby Trap, Stay Alive, Don't Break the Camel's Back , Trouble and Headache. ("pop o matic pop the dice"). The rainy day cart NEVER had Which Witch , Seance , Ouiji , Mystery Date, Green Ghost or the Barnabas Collins Dark Shadows game Weird that Sugar Sugar was NOT on that album. Around this time Post cereal had the Cut-Out Archie records on the back of the boxes! How cool was that ?! As an adult collector- my first BIG $ purchase in 1989 , was a full complete Super Sugar Crisp box with an Archie record on the back. The box was UNUSED and in mint shape ! (it came from the estate of the guy that produced the record) . I was all : "I cannot believe I just paid $75.00 for an old cereal box". LOL. I still have it and it was a good investment. The Archies were a Don Kerschner Production .

I remember the "Ripley's believe it or not" in the Sunday paper back in the 70's.

27:35 Depending on your taste ; Iron Butterfly was a LOT better than you were lead to believe. That DAMN hit song rendered them a "one hit wonder" - and people just decided to ignore them after that ---- just like "Incense and Peppermints" did to Strawberry Alarm Clock. Both bands have really good "deep cuts" if you like "Flower Power " music / hard rock from the late 1960s. One of the members of Iron Butterfly got a government job in space (or aero-physics?) and one day , got in his car, left for work ....never to be heard from again. Nobody saw or heard anything . His car was found abandoned somewhere in Los Angeles on the side of the road. Not sure if there were any new developments over the years .... Iron Butterfly was also featured in the bottom of the barrel movie "A Musical Mutiny" filmed at Pirates World Amusement Park in Florida (1970) . If you lived in Florida in 1970- you will probably want to take a look at it.
