Great content as always! Since the top cap was change I assume that you filmed it with a bigger drone and insta360 pro2 maybe? Can you share some of the details? Thanks!

Thank you! Some of the footage was not filmed by me. And we used a bigger drone but just to fly higher as it was high wind. We did not use the Pro 2 but I wish I did lol.

Haha I just don't have the bandwidth to produce 3D 360 videos at this moment. We did shoot several of them but mostly for client projects. For free content on my channel, I am currently only doing 3D180 and 360 :)

Happy birthday, and thank you for producing content for people like me to learn. I am looking forward to you getting your hands on the Qoocam 3 Ultra for a full review. If it's good, that will be my next camera. For this video, did you upscale from 5.7K to 8K? If so, is there a software you like best to do that? I use Adobe Premiere Pro but have not tried upscaling yet ... since I am hoping for an actual affordable 8K camera soon.

Upscale is not recommanded if you can just shoot native 8K. So yes you are right. We have several workflow but this one is using Resolve. I should make a tutorial soon when I figure out an easier workflow to teach.

Can someone tell me whats the point of shooting in 8k if whatever headset only goes up to 4k like the apple vision? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm new to VR and want to make videos for the apple vision.

You have to differentiate between flat 16:9 videos and 360° videos. The Resolution of a 360° video is counted for the whole sphere and you are only watching a small area of that video. So 360° 8K is like non-360 in 1080p e.g. and even 8K doesn't feel high res in VR. In comparison a regular screen has a much higher pixel density since the resolution is on a smaller area. :) Btw. if you want to really boost the felt resolution and immersion try to film in 3D. Even if there are blurry structures like trees, they feel much more detailed when depth is added to each pixel :)

I recommend to just rent a Meta Quest 3 for 1 month and play around with different formats and what you like most. My preffered one is 360° 3D (8K+) since it really transports me in the scene/place filmed. If you are more on filming a specific subject 180° might be a better fit. And try to get at least 60fps or more when you plan to film sth. in motion. In VR your head always compares stuff with the reality and 60fps feels like 30fps, 30 like 20fps etc.

I am thinking of making VR content with the canon r5c so your recent stuff has been good, albeit a bit over my head and I’m a videographer!
