you need to harpoon that Gjall and pull him into your ballistas if you're gonna use them. i flattened and prepped a killing field next to my base specifically to drop down, summon skellies and pop gjalls with the arbalest or carapace spear. stops mobs from shooting your base up.

Bonemass is the best choice because we can use fire resistance potions, and the majority of damage that would kill us is physical (with the exception being fighting Dvergr - but fire resistance handles the fire mage).

100%! Those bugs can hit real hard. No way I'm going in there without my Conan the Bavarian button! Oh, and warm capes count as frost resistance unless wet, if I remember my fight with Moder correctly. Should help against the frost mages if we do our "business negotiations" on dry days.

Does Bonemass stack with Fenris fire resist tho? Cuz the fire resist potions don't.

@@UrielSepsis Every cape past wolf has the same effect. I'm not sure that it's the same "frost" resistance as it is cold weather.

@@fortheloveofking After playing a bit again, I remember now. Saw it in a video and tested it a out about year ago and frost resist potion didn't give any discernible additional protection against ice wyrm attacks and Moder's breath when wearing the cape. We left our potions in camp when going into the mountains and used them only for death runs. Bonemass gives physical protection and should not interfere with fire resi. I guess you mean Yagluth (protection from magic). I don't know, didn't test it yet. One more thing on my list, I guess. ^^

Thanks for the vid! Very informative. Ticks can be handled quite easily with the atgeir, using the secondary attack. I soloed the Gjall by getting right under him - slightly to the rear - and spamming frost arrows. I had only plains-tier equipment.

For the ticks is super easy just switch off the bow and take out your iron sledge and it 1 shots the whole group of ticks ... and stay right under the yarl (spelling probably way off) and just keep shooting their stomach and when they shoot the fire just run to the backside and they can't turn around fast. That method seems to work decent for me haha or run frantically and not notice a cliff and drop to your death haha that method has worked for me also

5:21 you can actually use your Harpoon on the Mutant Netch and it will pull them down

I'm not sure if it's just inadequate description or not, but from what I've observed eggs simply need a roof over their heads to hatch. I'd like to see a bit more clarification as based on testimony from a friend of mine, the chickens' feces provide enough insulation in their coup that they don't need an additional heat source to survive, and I'm curious as to whether the devs programmed in a "you need to keep your birbs warm and dry" string as opposed to a "your birbs need a roof" string and mislabeled the tooltip. Also makes me wonder about whether you need a coup or not for your hens to lay eggs, as the vast majority of the time mine will lay their eggs outside the "sheltered" bit of their enclosure I've set up for them.

Ate the Mistlands mixed in with the other biomes or are they on the far edges of the map?

I suspect they're in same places as before the update. That is mixed in with other biomes but further away from center and closer towards the edge of the world.

Ok, how about a how to survive when you first get there? Video has you face tanking attacks that easily take me out at 180 health in fully leveled padded.

Yeah I know. They start these videos with the best gear but the problem is you only have Padded going in. I thought the Ggall was the easiest so far. Killed 4 of them already that spawn in right near my plains outpost. But the other giant bugs, especially the ones with a star. I've walked in with over 200 health take 2 hits and I'm dead. I think these guy's use Devcommands to unlock everything before they go in and I like playing the game with out it. He said have the best gear before you even go in? So is that Padded? His videos are good but I'm trying to just find out what to do first going in with Padded. I did unlock a few new weapons, 2 spears and the two knives at the same time? which unfortunately my stats for them are 0 because I never used them lol. Guess ima try them because I'm getting wrecked now? The Mistlands seem like alot of work.

While it's tempting to go for the black forge first, it's best to use your first few cores on the eitr refinery. Most things that require the forge also require refined eitr. I made this mistake, don't be like me.

Right now, if you just want to get on the public testing. If you want a more “stable” version, then there is no date because the purpose of the testing is to work out most of the flaws. It can’t be released until they are patched mostly. That could take another week or potentially a month. Most likely it’ll be about two more weeks or less

This game is the number one survival. When they created mislands maybe they didn't test it for themselves. This shit is hard. It don't take a rocket science to figure that out. Maybe those morons was sleepy.
