I’m glad someone noticed. People talk about how technically brilliant Loma is but his footwork is a mess. It’s flashy but definitely not fundamentally sound. He’s can just get away with it until he faces a guy that can exploit it.

If it's a mistake, that's one thing. But if it helps him to be effective, then, it's good technique.

There is no reason you can't cross step or use other unorthodox footwork if you're skilled enough to use it for efficienct movement. Guarantee everyone who says you can't are not pro boxers. If you only follow the norm of boxing technique, you will always be predictable, and that's what gets you caught at the highest levels

Not following fundamental rules doesn't mean its wrong, done at times breaking the rules makes the difference or you become too predictable. Many fighter will do things that are 'against the rules' .
