Agreed. Couch coop (in Secret of Mana / Seiken Densetsu 2) is what put this franchise on probably 90% of people's radar

how do you make a couch coop with this kind of gameplay ? Splitscreen ? Like the Trials of Mana Remake, this 3rd person gameplay can't be couchcoop, with camera effects and character switch. Only Coop maybe doable but couch is dead. In 90's it was possible because of the isometric graphics where all the characters and monsters were visible in one screen !

@@ZelmLeMageNoir PSO had camera effects in single player for what they called "Photon Blasts" (basically Limit Breaks that your little partner bots do) - and in split screen coop they just disabled those camera effects. Easy. If SEGA could figure it out in 2000, then Square Enix can find a solution in 2024! The simple answer why they didn't do split screen is: They didn't want to. Because NO WAY IN HELL is it in any way "impossible" to implement.

Exactly but I'm not sure if the JOB classes will use the same SP spending method as Trials on Mana ie the only english dub of SD3/Mana 2 got on the PS4.

That's not something an AI needs to do. It's called letting the people dubbing actually see the footage getting dubbed so they can sync it. Or actually re-animating the facial models, which actually is something Square has done multiple times already, but only for higher budget games it seems.
