The car is intended to be able to drive without the controls extended. If you want to take over you can enable and extend the controls. But you would be able to enter and drive away without any of the transformation having to happen. The whole thing is designed around new ideas for luxury interiors for autonomously driving cars. It's also a test-bed for other new technology like the 800V quick charging, AR integration, or the modular back design.
