One cool thing for your basement is get a huge fish tank and have a beautiful tank setup! And dude that's awesome!!! I've been learning how to do smaller projects a working my way up to bigger things!

Be sure to keep all of the 4 blade ceiling fans those are 80's Casablanca (I think the 4 seasons model) and they are one of the best Ceiling fans ever made there is one in one of the upstairs bedrooms (the 12x12 ones) and the sunroom if you do not want them in your house at least make sure to install them in your shop to keep them

My house has been a work in progress since my Dad and I built it 27 years ago (unfinished basement and stick framed attic. Good luck. I hope those leaky windows don't expose bigger issues with the walls. I'll be watching for how you extend out your kitchen too as I'm planning on moving my (load bearing) wall out about 6' too.

The property is just gorgeous! What state are you in? I'm sure you had the house inspected before buying it as it is usually a requirement of most mortgage companies. And as long as it has good bones you can turn it into a lifetime home. Did I see fruit trees on the property? I'm catching up on older videos, so I apologize if you answer my questions in future videos. What was it about oak during the 1980s anyway??

@@KomarProject Feel free Bart. I've done pretty much everything residential except HVAC. That includes jacking the whole damn thing up and pouring a foundation underneath. That was Money Pit #2 - an 1896 building in a mountain gold mining town. The one I'm in now was a foreclosure a little bit older than yours - gutted to the studs and replaced everything. Now 10 years on I'm finally getting around to the Kitchen cabinets.

Your kitchen (before remodeling) is SO much like the kitchen in my mother’s 1986-built house, down to the cooking thingy in the island! It’s an indoor grill. I think she used it once. A huge fluorescent bank of lights hung over it, not a hood. Sheesh! Edit to add: WHOA!! Even the trash compactor!! LOL! Mom liked that; I think she kept it in her remodel. I got deja vu watching this. I helped her design the remodel. Now I’m curious to see what other stuff like my mom’s is in this kitchen. A built-in desk? A house-wide intercom system, with speakers in every room, and an included radio? ETA: ah, the cedar-lined walk-in closet! My mom had one just like that in her house, too! I wonder if they were built by the same builder... 🤔

@@KomarProject Hi, Mr. Komar; it’s not the same house. Hers was on a cul-de-sac in a housing development in Omaha, Nebraska, on only 1/2 acre, not 2+ acres. I tried to talk her into changing the locations of the doorways into the kitchen to make the traffic flow better, but she thought that would be too expensive. The dining room doorway was right next to the stove, so you had to walk right behind someone standing at the stove to walk into the kitchen that way. There was a bank of 5 or 6 switches in the Great Room, a couple of which were mystery switches. It’s a good idea to get an electrician to check yours out! 👍. She had a Jack-and-Jill bathroom on the 2nd floor, too. A bay window on the first floor was rotted out from no flashing put above the house/bump-out intersection, which was expensive to repair. I hope you enjoy your house, and turn it into exactly the house of your dreams! 💝 🙏
