To designate a room it could be a “hotel door” and anything beyond that door would be a room, so that way you could include bathrooms and make suites easier

the hotels in the sims 2: bon voyage were SO WELL DONE!!! the rooms were defined by the special door (just like the apartments), they were differently priced per night according to the size, the furniture in it, we had rabbit hole tours... they can do the hotels well - it's just a matter of EA seeing enough profit in this expansion pack at this point

Australian here: for the New World, Australia would be FANTASTIC because you could have a fancy hotel in Sydney with the Opera House, and then have a dingey little Motel in the Outback on the side of a road!!! Imagine they added Kangaroos, Emus, and Koalas 😭❤️

Love the idea of adding more stuff for elders. A hotel pack would work so well - they could add an aspiration called Grey Nomad for elders and have elder sims want to holiday at so many different hotels/worlds and while on vacation this slows their aging or something.

8:48 it could work with a special door that you need a keycard to enter or knock if someone else is in the room. You would get the keycard from the lobby worker and a screen would pop up where you can choose what room you want

Magician would be an amazing career to add with a hotel pack lol. Like a Vegas vibe and then you go see David Copperfield. Or the ability to have a live show at the hotel every night and it can switch between music and a magician

i think italian inspired world would make so much sense. there are seas, mountains and also vineyards where your sims could rent a room and get to know the vine making tradition or taste vine

With the curved pools you could add elevation into pools so in the shallow areas toddlers and play and swim

They had working hotels in Sims 1. You could build the hotels from the ground up and design them as you wanted. I'd definitely love to see hotels, motels, etc. in the Sims 4 😊

I remember they had a survey a while back with potential worlds and one of them was Swiss Alps, so maybe for a mountain resort, that would be a good option.

This would be a wonderful time to add beds separate from frames! And if they did a vacation pack, it could also be a great time to add cars (and planes and trains)! Personally tho, I’d like to see an African, South Asian, or Latin American inspired world above anything else.

I'm ALL for an apartment lot type/hotels. Two of my biggest wants for The Sims 4.

The Sims and The Sims 2 had great resorts. Also if they were Irish hotel rooms you would have an electric kettle and tea/coffee in the photos. No hotel or B&B is without them. Higher tier options usually have a Nespresso

I’d also love to see more swimmable water added to the base game/other existing packs. It really bugs me how places like brindleton bay, windenburg, and copperdale are covered in beaches and bays and yet your sim can’t swim in any of them. I think it would be cool to have swimming signs (similar to fishing spots) that could be found around water locations. It could even be fun to have “no swimming” signs that could have an increased chance of death or illness for your sim if they choose to swim in those waters

I think that Switzerland would also be a good resort world!

A fold out couch/futon would also be so cool for hotels and pretty realistic

no this could be so cool, if the themes for the hotel works like lot traits, and the doors work like the vip get famous doors, only certain sims allowed through. the whole hotel works so well and sounds so so fun

I think it'd be awesome to have modular beds, you put two together, you could snap nightstands to the sides and ottomans at the end, and a new attachable headboard feature would be awesome too!! 😊

I didn’t play a lot of Sims 3, but a lot of the options mentioned are actually in the Sims 2 hotels in Bon Voyage. I loved making the hotels for that pack! And the only way to denote different spaces was with the hotel room door, which worked similar to dorm room doors. And hotels served meals in a dining area or room service.

I know there are already a lot of US inspired worlds, but when you were talking at length about buffets, it really made me think of Las Vegas. Also, the variety in themed hotels there. But it should be more about the city, since we already have multiple desert like worlds.

Another thing they should add is rentable apartments, that would feel more like a hotel

I think it would be fun to have hotels/resorts and maybe a activity option could be a tennis/racket ball court?

The lane line could just be a featured object to call the front desk (like ordering food, canceling you stay, adding days to your stay, etc.)...Also I don't think it's an impossible mission for The Sims 4 team to create that pack, but some features might be a little harder to do depending on how the game is currently coded (base on my very little experience in coding games :P )

I feel like the easiest way to be able to like "designate" a hotel room would be to have specialized hotel doors-- and then maybe you could right-click on the door to pull up a menu that designates the "type" of hotel room? I feel like that would maybe avoid bugs where Sims end up showing up in each other's rooms uninvited, because then the door would be locked to non-residents, kind of like apartments in City Living.

Yes! Speak it into existence! It might take years based on previous expierence, but that’s better than nothing lol! I would love to make a Hotel Casino and Resort, but that’s asking for too much I know.

I think another good idea for a "resort world" would be a Las Vegas theme and maybe add the ability (just adding to your idea) a way to joint together like a casino AND hotel. Throw in an escapist trait (sims that like staying in hotel/resorts). I would love a ton of big light up signs like they've got in Vegas just everywhere yknow. Maybe add stuff like a way to designate photo op areas where your sims can get their picture taken in front of what would be considered "sightseeing hotspots" (maybe add a "marvelous sights" lot trait for if you want to make a tourist trap type place but the sims will get tense if it's just a run of the mill hotel [think celebrity home lot trait from get famous]) once again just spit-balling here

Maybe, in order to distinguish the rooms, they could have a special door, and everything accessible behind that door is one hotel room

I think this would be a great opportunity to bring gambling into the game. We had slots and card tables in the sims 3 lucky palms and it was so fun. Think of a vegas style world.

I'd love to see an Appalachian world. Also, I've been wanting a theme park expansion for a long time and I feel like resorts could tie into that really well. I think an Egyptian inspired world like in Sims 3: World Adventures would be cool.

Florida would actually be perfect for a vacation pack. There could be a Miami Beach hotel area, an Orlando theme park area and a swamp with a dirty motel 6 😂

I have a “pretend hotel” in my game. It does not work as I would prefer obviously, but it’s all I can do. So fellow Simmers, if you like to create pretend hotels/apartments ect… then just make the lot fully furnished and set it to a “generic” lot. Random Sims still visit this way, so it’s not a barren. If you make it a rental lot the fees will be insane. Especially if the lot cost several hundred thousand or more (mine are upwards of 1 million lol). So just travel there on your own, call work and take vacation, then stay at the “hotel” lot… you have your pretend vacation. You don’t have to leave! This has been my method for awhile because rental lots didn’t exist before. Hope this helps someone! As for your ideas Kayla, oh round pools! I’ve been waiting for that! I love the in-ground hot tub idea too because I’m obsessed with them in real life. What I would really like though are more saunas! I know that’s a spa day thing, but most resorts have a spa. I don’t like how large the current sauna we have is. I use a sauna regularly, and the one I use is enough for one person to fit in - or two tops. Not the massive one we have now. We need one that takes up less space, or the ability to make a custom sauna.

I would love if there was a chance for conventions or special events. Maybe when you open your hotel one monday morning you get a pop up that says that there was a convention location change and they are asking if you can take a lot of last minute guest. maybe depending on what event it is, changes how the sims behave. Like a twitch con or something so you have a lot of famous sims that stream. you’ll have paparazzi or crazy fans visiting and special interactions and complaints from guest about the screaming fan girls or something. just to add a little challenge and something different then the sims 3

I bet they could use an item like the “no shoe” sign from Snowy Escapes that you could use to designate what each room is, like dining space, gym, room, lobby, pool, ect

I think for the guest's rooms it'd probably be best to be able to have a special door for guests that automatically assigns a guest group that can open it along with staff. Depending on how deep you want to go, you can even make it so other hotel guests can knock on these doors to visit people staying in other rooms, though I can absolutely see that getting annoying... So a Do Not Disturb sign guests can put out might be a good idea. :'D One thing that does worry me about no rabbit holes: The tricky thing about having so many Sims moving around on the lot at the same time is that it takes a lot of processing power. It wouldn't be easy to run for people who play the game on older hardware. Just look at how much the game can start to chug if you have several animals on your lot using Horse Ranch and/or Cottage Living... It'd be nice to have a rabbithole *option* for people with older/more limited hardware, but without them being mandatory for a hotel lot.

I missed playing with Hotels in the sims 3 i really hope they add it into sims 4 and that you can upgrade your hotel like you could in sims 3

One way I could picture hotel rooms operating is if they sort of functioned in the same way that the yoga instruction mat does, where you have to have items set within a boundary to work. So say we get several sizes of hotel room square, and each one requires the placement of a bed and dresser within the boundary of the square to function. Then it's up to you if you add other furniture or features to the room, because as long as the square meets the requirements, it functions as a hotel room of its own, even if the walls of the room are not fitted to that square. But also, only sims who have checked into that specific room can use the furniture within the square, so if you have a hot tub within one room, Sims won't just wander onto the square to use it.

in sims 2 the rooms of the hotels were controlled by the doors, so you could click at the room door as a guest to choose yours and each one would have a different price, depending on size and features like balconies... i had a lot of fun with sims 2 hotels!

hotels/resorts would be so fun! i think my main concern is what you mentioned in the vid - dine out. with how that pack turned out and how broken it still is seven years after its release, i can't help but be a little worried at the thought of the sims team releasing another pack somewhat similar to it. all the ideas you had sound super cool though!

This would be the perfect scenario to add townhouses! They could work with the rental idea, they could be aparthotels or a normal residencial. Alsooo a world with different landscapes and areas. Like downtown with more of a city vibe, hotels like Hilton style. And then a beachside, like Venice beach, with hotels with a view. And then north like a mountain area idk!

A good idea for this pack would be a world based on Rio de Janeiro: a touristic, coastal uptown (Copacabana, Ipanema) with an overcrowded beach and a luxurious resort (i.e. Copacabana Palace Hotel), an artsy, historical neighborhood (Santa Teresa, Botafogo) with its pubs, art galleries and hostels, and as we're talking about Rio there would also be a favela (something like the colorfully repainted part of Rocinha, for the sake of being Sims-friendly), with pubs and a motel near the airport obnoxiously close to the neighborhood (i.e. Galeão). For the world's lore, there would be the return of the Altos (in control of the city ofc) and the Unsavory Charlatan from Sims 2 Bon Voyage (who somehow can also show up in other places like Selvadorada, Del Sol Valley and even Mt. Komorebi, wearing thematically appropriate costumes for each world), and lots of corruption, social inequality and scandals!

The most intriguing for me would be the ability to build your own hotel/apartments and set certain apartments as yours so that the other apartments gray out, as is already a thing in city living. Maybe there also could be an Airbnb opportunity in existing houses/apartments so you can be a landlord or owning more than one home?

I think it would be really cool if the resort world be Vegas themed. That way you could have the fancy casinos and the budget motels

I think the Florida theme could be a good addition actually because they could add a theme park like that one spot with the rides in Highschool Years, and the resort can be connected to it, like the Disney Parks and Hotels

If I remember correctly in Sims 2, the doors were used as markers for rooms. You would select the room you wanted to rent by clicking in the door. And I’m also pretty sure the prices would differ by size of room. We couldn’t run hotels in Sims 2, I don’t think. BUT costumer wise they were pretty customizable

All of my large builds are multigenerational homes with attached mother-in-law apartments, and I would LOVE to be able to mark those spots off as only for that specific sim without having to lock the doors. You could use it for room mates too, where they go to their own rooms and just hang out there. That function would be like the clubs function or Get Together, where you could use it for so many things.

hotels pack would be cute, yeah, i agree! however my dream pack is time travelling (medieval era or a cyberpunk future) OR maybe a zombie apocalypse pack where your sim has tasks to do to save the world/make it worse 😢😢 the sims needs some spice cuz lately it's a bit boring :(

I have already built several themed motels which i often put as rentals in strangerville and would absolutely love a pack to make them actually function as motels 😭

Maybe they could designate the rooms with a specific door type - like bathrooms or kitchens!

Maybe to make it more accessible, you can have standard room sizes, that are in the room placer tool, and you could build that out, and then copy and paste it. Then there's a "standard room" size and maybe a door that registers that as a standard room, and then another door, a door that makes it a suite attached to a larger room size.

Sims being able to own multiple lots would be a DREAM. I also really REALLY want a "home business" lot that you can live on and have a secondary lot assignment. So it would be a residential lot/any of the other business lots. It would work perfectly for a hotel/resort pack because you could make a cute bnb or a spooky hotel and live in it as a custodian. I want it so badly. It would add so much to the game, especially since I always feel locked down to my home lot anyway.

you could add another menu onto doors and assign it as a hotel room like how you assign front doors , and then have the sims be assigned a room like how they’re assigned tables in dine out? And then in the Bathroom/Bedroom section in the top left have Hotel be a lot type, have the type of hotel (b&b, motel, luxury) be an upgraded lot like from eco lifestyle and have each upgrade have a specific room number needed. That way they can control lag by limiting it to 8-12 rooms whilst also having it a gameplay feature

Hotels in Sims 1 were my favorite too, I think it would be so great in the Sims 4 - especially in worlds like Sulani!

In the sims 2 the rooms became “invisible” when there were guests inside, I liked that way, it gives the guests privacy and you can still see the stuff normally. Maybe guests could also leave a room absolutely wrecked, with everything broken and full of trash?

I came from Alicante (Spain) this week and I was like "I need to build a mediterranean style hotel in Sulani". Once I finished to build the building I remembered I only could create rentals but not hotel themselves. My heart is broken xD
