People in Moscow were asked about the impact of Russia's "special military operation" on Ukraine -- the Kremlin's wording for the invasion of its western neighbor. When questioned about what was gained or lost, some saw the attack as a "win," while others expressed unhappiness about the results.

Are you in favour of the war? I ask because you know this war could so easily have been prevented but Nato successfully provoked Russia to invade by refusing to negotiate with Russia on Ukraine being a neutral state outside nato. This is nato's war, they wanted this proxy war with Russia and Nato provoked Russia into invading. Nato has only been a force for death and destruction since the end of the cold war with the Soviet union. Nato has left a trail of failed states in their wake, namely Bosnia, Kosovo, who they annexed by force from Serbia, Afghanistan left to the Taliban after 20 years, Iraq who they invaded under false pretences, Syria where the west by backed an Islamist regime change, then there was Libya and now Ukraine. In total, Nato interference and invasion has resulted in well over one million deaths, millions more losing their homes and millions fleeing to western Europe as refugees. In short, everywhere Nato has interfered has turned out badly! Nato has also failed western interests by provoking the Russians to invade Ukraine as that has driven Russia into a far closer friendship with China which benefits China enormously and harms the west. Nato has in effect given China unrestricted access to Russian oil, gas and grain to further their aim of becoming the number one superpower in the world. an own goal of massive proportions! And even now with the war gong badly In Ukraine, the west is doubling down with more aid to Ukraine instead of negotiating with Russia on a peace deal to end the war. Doubling down with more troops and money didn't work in Vietnam and it won't work in Ukraine either. The best course is to negotiate now and get the best deal for ukraine before Ukraine is totally destroyed in this war.

*If tomorrow, putin regime says they will end military operations in Ukraine and withdraw from Ukraine (including previously occupied territories aka Donbass)..Everyone will be happy.Even some russians. It will be widely seen as true gesture of goodwill by russia and not as a sign of weakness *If putin regime then agrees to a phased retreat and repatriation of Crimea back to Ukriane..it will go a long way into mending its relations with Ukraine. *If putin regime agrees to apologize to Ukraine for killing its people(tantamount to genocide), Pay compensation for rebuilding Ukrainian territories destroyed by russian forces and Officially recognize the territorial Integrity of Ukraine in an Official International format...then Europe and west in general would be open to normalize relations with russia with Complete removal of sanctions. *Finally, and this is an additional step,to be taken at the discretion of russians. Putin can accept full responsibility, step down from power. Prosecute and punish all russian military personnel responsibile of committing Warcrimes against Ukrainians either in Ukrainian or European court. That may prompt Ukrainians to Forgive russian society for the crimes that russia has committed against Ukraine. Start to Normalize relations between Ukraine and Russia

In some cases they made the citizens help collect bodies. It seemed only then did reality start to sink in for those people who refused to believe or wanted to ignore, for whatever reason, the hell that took place in their own back yards.
