I have NEVER enjoyed a documentary of Egypt more than this one! It had an actual story from beginning to end of a loving couple. I actually felt emotionally engaged during the entire program which is unusual because while I have watched no less than 100 of them, none had my full attention let alone make me totally care about the main subjects, so well done & thank you for an exceptional job of bringing this story to life.

So amazing But the archaeologists took everything the same as the tomb raiders did.... Those items were in there for Kha and Meryt's afterlife... Not that I believe or know anything about the afterlife... but WHAT IF... what if the removal of those items means they struggle in the afterlife. It would be nice if, for once, the scientists and archaeologists would leave the places they discover intact, as they were set up to be thousands oof years ago. Removal of the items, either by tomb raiders or archaeologists...is the same thing....... Study it, document it, leave it intact. If that was my grave, I'd be a pissed off ghost!

Ahmenoptep the 3rd's statue at 18:59 into Joanne's excellent vocast has been carved out of what looks like marble and this is where I get on the train that takes us to the conclusion that something more than copper tools were available to these people. The precision work on Ahmenopten's race is astoundingly well done and that, boys and girls, brings us once again to the biggest question of antiquity: why aren't we finding the tools that were used on carving the hardest stones in the world: diorite, shist, black and rose marble and others?

@@mandiemoore3272 GGGGGGGGGGGGreat to hear from you. There is one thing about any talk of advanced technology that makes you have the only answer with proper facts. There have been no tools of high precision ever found, but whoever they were, they knew things that are astounding. The king's chamber, queen's chamber and the lower chamber in The Great Pyramid of Giza are the same proportions as Mercury, Venus and the Earth. There are expansion joints in it. It is the only 8-sided pyramid in the world. It clocks in the spring and autumn equinox's on the minute and this can only be seen from a thousand feet up in the air...

It is HIGHLY misleading to imply that the tomb of Kha and Merit is representative of that of "Common", everyday Egyptians. Kha was Chief Architect to three Pharaohs, and his luxuriously furnished tomb, which included gold items given to him by the Pharaohs whose tombs he built, is more like that of a minor member of royalty than that of a common Egyptian. Literally 95 percent of Egyptians were poor farmers who could not hope for such luxuries. Most probably could not afford mummification.
