Classmates knew about 'the list' and told their own parents about it - and yet no one took it seriously enough to take any kind of actions. I can't wrap my head around this.

I understand the kids not grasping the gravity of the situation but the parents?? No way, they should’ve gone to the principal and the police. Despicable.

It's always just so easy to ignore red flags in a sea of red flags. I worked in special education for years (5 with kids) and the amount of stuff that would have been absolute red flags was impossible to fully track. It was really hard to tell if someone was "just vying for attention," or if they really needed to be taken seriously. We kept track of details to look for changes. The parents were often so thrown off by having to help support their own child that they also couldn't really read red flags from their children's friends. It's such a hard call. I do think child services need to be boosted. It destroyed me every time we'd have a huge report about a child coming in with signs of physical abuse daily only to learn that the younger kids were removed from the house but not the abused older child. And schools too. They'll often just shuffle kids out or in without checking much.

Honestly though what would've happened if they did take it to the police? Maybe the 2 murderers would've gotten a 'talking to' and that's all. No one else would've been told and they might have been postponed but unless these violent predators are immediately dealt with then it changes nothing. They immediately deal with nonviolent drug users? Why not violent predators? And we can tell the difference between a person saying they'd like to murder someone in exasperation and someone making a kill list for goodness sakes! Idk just my rant.

Briannas mother was so so sympathetic to the parents of the 2 teenagers that took Briannas life, she stated that one way or another all of them have lost a child, I think that she also wants to meet both Scarlett and Eddie, What a brave woman, my daughter was murdered by her boyfriend aged 24, I cannot bring myself to be so forgiving, every time I hear of someone losing a child it rips another piece of my heart away, I hope there comes a time when every mother that has endured this pain will somehow be reunited with their children. I live extremely close to where this took place. I have a soon to be 15 year old son, who is autistic and selective mute, it frightens me doubly as I don't want people to think ill of people like my son because of actions like Eddies. And it also scares me that he could too be a target as he's so quiet and isolated.
@katekendall6574
@katekendall6574 3 місяці тому
I know how you feel ❤ children like ours are so easily manipulated but all we can do is teach them all we can, like I'm sure Eddies parents did, mine is 19 now and seems quite clued in to people trying to take advantage but that's unfortunately through experience. I'm just pleased the experience wasn't a criminal act. Your son will be fine, as much as it's hard your learn to let them make their own way and mistakes, they know they have a safe space with us to come home to, that's all you can do ❤
@drunkpaulocosta9301
@drunkpaulocosta9301 2 місяці тому
Well people have their own bias, fears and pattern recognition that keep them feeling safe and secure. You shouldn't fear that. Just teach your kid not to take it personal. Focus less on how other people think and more on how you and your child think and you will be fine. People are rightly wary or someone with mental health issues. (Not just talking your child but the wide array of issues humans can have) Not everyone knows how deep someones issues go and if they can be dangerous. So they are often wary until they find out. Its like how i wouldnt leave my severely autistic cousin to look after my child. But i'll let him cook for himself in my kitchen. There is a limit to how much i'll pretend they can do everything fine. There is a limit to how much i suspend my typical instincts to cater for his disability and so he can have a relatively normal life. My childs life and safety isnt trumped by the feelings of my cousin who i also love. And its not worth the risk for either of them. Other examples are this case for example. If this person wasnt so open minded. Was skeptical of peoples mental illness ect. They might have avoided them. And be alive right now. Pattern regocognition is important to humans. And being too empathetic can lead you to more dangerous situations. This is called hood logic in the ghetto. Where good people harden up and become cold because they will die if they don't. This is natural behaviour and serves us more than it doesnt. Your child will be fine as long as you treat him with a realistic expectation. And don't just fund and support everything thst makes their life easier. Life is hard sometimes. And some things should be hard. And are hard enough to teach people character and respect and many other things. Make them as self sufficent as possible. But don't give them entire independence if you know that could be harmful to others or themselves. Too many parents send these kids to school pretending like they are 100% functioning. And then wonder why they take the lyrics to a Metal Song too literally. By the way for context, the pattern of danger i see is this is a cousin who i saw swing a cat around by its tail when he was 15. Because he didnt understand properly. And he broke the cats tail. So regardless of his feelings. He got punished. And it wasnt ignored. He faced the same consequences any of my family would have if they did that. And it showed me that sometimes, he isnt capiable of rational thought. And i no longer leave him in situations where i think common sense is required. I think the issue is when people wrap these kids in cotton wool and adapt their world to cater to THEIR needs. Rather than teach disabled kids to survive in this world.
@AHHHHOK
@AHHHHOK 2 місяці тому
@@drunkpaulocosta9301 oh absolutely. I'm grateful my son is very much a rule follower, a strong sense of right and wrong. He comes home and he's appalled at the children who he sees vaping. Or when fights break out at school, he doesn't understand why anyone would fight like that. And I think /hope his nature is like mine and his dad's, we aren't fighters, I'm probably more of one to rock a boat that needs rocking, his dad would just walk away to avoid any conflict and I think our son is more likely to walk away from anything. Since my OG post, I've realised a friend knew of Eddies parents, not particularly well, but enough to know they are good people. And it's a shame for them to have to live with this now, I just hope people treat them well and they don't get hate for their sons actions. But I also agree with you, I wouldn't be allowing my son a knife, it's a risk to have a weapon. Yes we all have access to the kitchen, but a knife that is YOURS i feel leaves way easier access. X

I guess I wonder what kind of intervention should be standard when a kid makes a list or expresses violent thoughts. I think it's common enough that it is often shrugged off. It’s kind of the dunning-Kruger effect in action. My favourite is Joel Guy Jr, who apparently actually was very intelligent, but literally wrote a journal called “The book of premeditation” and left the crime scene half cleaned up basically just cause he got tired, somehow thinking that no one else would be curious as to what happened to his popular, well liked parents. 🙄 Like dude, I thought you were supposed to be smart!!

It’s worth mentioning that Brianna refused to go down to the pipe tunnel because she felt something was off. She told them she was gonna stay back on the footpath and sit on a bench. Scarlett had been pretending that someone else was going to meet them and was logging in and out of accounts to message herself from this imaginary person to then show the messages to Brianna. Brianna had messaged a friend I believe to say Scarlett was really weird and she thinks she’s messaging herself. So Brianna most likely sensed something was wrong but probably had no idea how much danger she was actually. Her not going down to the tunnel almost certainly threw them because the tunnel was out of sight. In the end they took the risk of killing her on the footpath and were ultimately seen at the scene of the crime. The odd thing is that the people who spotted them heard nothing. So either Brianna didn’t scream or she had been killed out of earshot and the killers stayed with the body for a minute or so. Eddie was seen crouching down over her body, why has not been explained.
@anabantoid
@anabantoid 3 місяці тому
Given that they planned to stab her first in the back and then in the stomach, if that is indeed how that went, stabbing someone in the back knocks the wind clean out of them and thus she might not have been able to cry out because of that. It’ll be a pair made up of three members of the parole board (not officers lol) and they will have extensive records from psychiatrists, psychologists and prison staff to make a decision. Parole board members are themselves often lawyers, psychologists etc so I’m sure they’ve dealt with far more accomplished and experienced liars and criminals than these two, and it will be extremely hard to pull the wool over their eyes. The panel only considers whether they are currently a danger to the public; the actual punishment is the 22 years so public safety is the only thing the panel considers… with that being said, with this level of attention from the public, they might tend to keep them locked up so as not to become public enemies themselves lol. Briana was absolutely beautiful inside and out. It's probably one of the reasons scarlett was so obsessed with her. People like her like to drag down anyone with a bright shining light. They want everyone else to be just as miserable as they are. Briana may have had her own problems, but she was better than both those kids in a hundred different ways. They stole her from the world, and they deserve so much worse than prison.

Thank you for being so respectful during this case. The loss of Brianna Ghey even though I didn’t know her really hit me. I’m so glad you’re talking about her with such respectx

When Scarlett was arrested she had no idea that Brianna's mother would have known her name. It's like the idea that parents would have any information about their child's company or whereabouts was completely foreign and unimaginable to her. Briana's parents were the UK version of the Crumbley parents.

What a aad sad story. Clearly, Brianna was such a strong individual to have been able to show everyone who she really was at such a young age. She was absolutely beautiful ❤ Those vile little creatures shouldn't be allowed to breathe air, never mind be allowed their freedom! I hope you're happy and at peace wherever you are Brianna ❤ forever young. Some souls are just too precious for this world. God bless her family and friends, I wish them all healed hearts 💕

Her mum is absolutely incredible, thinking of their parents and the fact they have effectively lost their children as well. I can’t imagine having that empathy when you’ve experienced such mindless loss. Brianna: you were a beautiful young woman, at the start of her journey. It wasn’t going to be easy, but I know you’d have got there and been a fierce, bright, and wonderful human. You will be remembered, always.

His mother should have been jailed for child abuse. Allowing your kids to get all that hormone replacement at such a young age. And "Brianna" should have followed the mother into jail, as he was helping younger kids do the same. As far as I'm concerned, the world is better off.

@ultimatums1 @Fyrdman I understand you two are seeking attention whether that be negative or not (similar to the murderers here). it just really is harmful sentiment. perhaps you lack creative thinking to consider life outside your own body, or just how broad the world and the people in it really are.. but I hope you figure that out someday. genuinely.
