Dani Moonstar is one of my absolute favourite characters. She is also one of the few actually interesting and appealing native super heroes and I really hope the upcoming movie does right by her.

I knew of the New Mutants for a while, but only because I was looking up comics involving Illiana and her earlier appearances

I've seen the movie: It was pretty good. It felt a bit short and rushed, a feeling that probably wasn't helped by the fact the lights in the theatre stayed on for the first 10-15 mins of the movie. I have one little nitpick. (I won't spoil anything, but some might consider what comes next to be a spoiler already, so if you're one of those: don't read on.) There's a reveal in the movie that 5 minutes later doesn't matter anymore, so why have that reveal?

I knew nothing of them, but knew instantly by the trailer I would love it! And then I did (as predicted) and loved the movie!

This was the start of my collection and included these comics.

I havent seen it, but the trailers looked AMAZING. Do you think people may have been thrown by the "not x-men" vibe of the movie? Like how you call the group weird? I feel like going in with pre-existing knowledge the characters will keep the movie very interesting. Dani and the bear, Rhane and her transformations.. I cant wait to see them all!

Yep, I have about 20 trades that chronicles the entire run of New Mutants and some of the splinters such as All-New X-factor and Uncanny Avengers that see some of the new mutant cast in different teams. I think I'm short 1 book current which is the finale Cable and The New Mutants, but that book in its epic collection format won't release till October. I've been a hardcore new mutant fan since I started reading comics. If you're a fan of the comics then film is a nicely done abridged telling of demon bear saga, kinda wish xian was in the film though. Magik is absolutely perfect in that film by the way. Like she's one of the JK Simmons castings for a marvel character, Same with Blu Hunt.

I loved new mutants back in the day even though their powers was ridiculous sometimes,I remember some issues when they are magically transferred to Aesgard for some strange reason and forget who they really are.

For the longest time, Cypher was the living EMBODIMENT of a Participation Trophy. Now look at him! One of the most powerful men in the world because he can talk to an island.

I've been a fan of them since they've come out, pretending I was Guthrie or DaCosta at times when I was growing up. I'm disappointed by the reviews and the unlikelihood that they'll go into the MCU, but I'm still going to see the movie.

I have a ~15 years old Marvel Encyclopedia, so I had a pretty big advantage here. Yes, I did know of their existence. Not much more than that though.

I read the series that lasted until 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed. I would expect to enjoy the movie too.

I watched the movie and it was pretty good actually. Theaters have been closed for a while so this isn’t bad for a first in a while

the new mutants are niche but not as much as Gen X. that team totally flew under the radar.

I enjoyed the movie. I think it got bad press of sorts cause its a tone shift from the normal hero movie and cause the mutants in it aren't really main stream. But I think it was a good thriller

Movie is pretty alright. Seemed rushed at some points but it isn't bad, though I would say if you didn't want to see us this in theaters you wouldn't be missing out

Yes I knew who the new mutants were. In fact I have the entire original series. It was one of my favorites to read as a kid. Call me weird but they were my gateway into the X-men. Until then all I read was Hulk and spider man. I had no interest in the X wing of the Marvel universe until I picked up the NM. With that said Demon Bear arguably one of the best saga in the book was given the Dark Phoenix treatment by fox

I thought The movie was ok. I thought it was fun to watch but didn't really dip in to the horror genre that much like I was hoping. It had a few creepy scenes but that was about it. It was interesting to watch for sure but as a comic fan, I liked it but as a horror fan, not really.

As somebody who actually saw the movie, I could say it's not horrible... The action is good, the acting is actually really good, but the story kind of... It's kind of trash so in all honesty I give it a 5 out of 10. It's pretty cool that it has tie-ins to Logan though
