But the construction of the sentence is really weird because it means the laptop has "strong many more features". @@martinkosec Well... it's a bit much considering the bladder didn't spread the water evenly. It should probably be separated into segments so the water has to flow through more of it. The pump is also pretty bad, so it's not that great. Still, I could totally see it be sold for around $20, so it's not an outrageous price.

Well, if you prefer an excellent camera paired with an easy to use and outstanding preforming phone that takes like 2 days to die if u just are texting (for the first month without gaming, that starts to kill the battery slowly. been gaming on it since january, battery at 93% of og capacity) It has more charge than the average consumer will need. It’s a really nice phone that you will have for a long while and is likely going to be worth the investment. Maybe in a year or two once the capacity gets below 60% I will get the battery replaced, but that’s at least three years from now. But, it is really overpriced to the point where some people won’t buy it solely for the price which isn’t good. They would sell so many more if it was more affordable.

This would be useful for charging the battery also. Heat degrades the battery, so keeping it cooler would help it last longer. Also, all of the QuickCharge standards measure battery temp and apply power accordingly. So you could potentially charge faster as well.

5:24 those fittings are basically just cable glands I wouldn't really use them on a thin plastic tube like that as you'd risk restricting the water flow.. They're great for (insulated) cables when you're bringing them out of an enclosure

So, I can see this being useful for mobile workers. I use to be a mobile computer tech and this would have been super useful for me. One of my biggest complaints was while using my GPS traveling around town (no matter what phone) my phone would get INSANELY hot. I would have absolutely loved to know about this device - it would have helped as I had the phone 'white out' from heat a few times. [Also, I live in a desert - which doesn't help - also didn't have A/C in the car]

I played the crap out of BTD4 back in the day, and beat every daily challenge for months on end, but 80% of the maps in BTD6 require pay2win, and the game isn't even F2P, it has a box price. Don't get it. It's crap. Literal impossible maps left and right, even on easy/normal, without ridiculous power ups like starting with a shit ton of money.

I use my phone a lot to record video, and it can get reaaally hot, especially when recording 4k. so, from my perspective, this is a very interesting option to keep things cool during long recordings, especially because the phone is just sitting on a tripod the whole time

I have to be the chemistry nerd who goes “well actually...” and point out that ice isn’t as stupid as it’s made out to be, if you’re using actual ice. Because of the heat of fusion of water, the ice -> water transition takes SIGNIFICANTLY more heat input than simply raising the temperature of an equal mass of water, and would extend the longevity of the useful cooling before the reservoir heats up. In case someone needs to play eight hours of PUBG instead of only six.

They aren't saying ice doesn't work to cool water. They said three ice is dumb because it doesn't really help performance and it greatly reduces player comfort. So if anyone actually uses this thing, sure they can toss in a couple cubes if the water starts getting warm but don't try to use it with ice water.

Beakerbite I think you missed my point: it wouldn’t help the processor run faster per se, but it would help it run faster for longer because it can absorb significantly more heat than an equivalent mass of water.

Thinking about it you can actually make a watercool system with a radiator and a fan and modifing the case with cooper to make a better heat transfer from the phone to the water loop and make it in a way that can be use in more phones, get bigger tubes and move horizontaly to have better grip and a better water pump eventhough should be connected to electricity

I feel like this wouldn't be particularly useful in a gaming situation, but if you had this liquid loop set up for a vehicle dash mount, that would be nice. I have a Moto Z4 and when I use it for GPS on a really hot day.. the screen starts to black out intermittently because of the heat, and I have to put it in my cupholder with the AC blasting on it to get it to uh.. "chill out."

These cases have been around a long time, and they are produced for almost all phones that is why the fit of the case was so nice because all they did was add 2 holes to an existing case. Just search for a neon sand case you'll find out what I'm talking about.

If your phone has a metal housing and not plastic this will work without doubt! The flow is a bit concerning but if the inlet and outlet ports are placed correctly according to CPU location and a 1-way valve is fitted then I'm quite certain you could rely entirely on the principle of thermal siphoning and toss that pump altogether.

This may actually work relatively well if built into say a car mount. I have run into that issue plenty of times on a hot summer day, while using the phone for music/navigation and charging where the phones just heats up too much and shuts itself down or kills applications. Usually just turning on the a/c fixes that issue though.

Ziplock bag with water, frozen in an nice even layer. Tried that out with my Note 10+, I'm pretty sure with that much cold, I was getting not just better sustained power but an actual increase in performance from what seemed to be the phone eeking out more performance. Would be neat to see if this could be replicated with other phones and what the results would look like

A more efficient method would be having two phone cases with a gel pack inside of it that you cool in the fridge/freezer. Then when one warms up you can swap it out with the one in the freezer

I used to use my Eris (Early Android phone running Donut) tethered to my computer for internet access when I travelled. The 3G at the time was adequate for 480p Hulu and Netflix and was reasonably reliable. The problem I faced was that the phone would get very hot very quickly and I was uncomfortable with temps in the sixties and seventies for hours at a time. So, I would just lay a cold can of pop on its side and lean the phone against it. The contact area was merely a pencil thin line from the top to the bottom of the phone because of the curvature of the can, but it kept the temp at about 40, which was a difference of up to 30C. Not bad, Pepsico.

0:05 Let's see how this goes. I use my phone outside and on my dashboard in this insane summer heat. Very often my phone refuses to charge because it's too hot. I even literally have nightmares about struggling with my phone throttling when I really need it to work fast and respond for work. Not this phone, but I strapped a heatsink to one before when I was having trouble. It maybe helped, but it was probably my imagination.

I used to do overclocking on a Moto G3 back when root and kernels where popular and believe me, that thing got really hot, cpu z said the cpu cores where at 105C ° and the battery at 60C°, the best solution to that whas just to make a case with a literal fan from a pc on the back and goodbye thermal throttling. Obviously it wasn't practical but for using in the house is was fine

This should be a interesting watch. I would use this with my Moto Z Play that was replaced with a like new phone but the heating up while charging and the slight gap between the screen and the body and the battery jumping from 20% to 0% makes me think something is quite wrong. Vice versa this gives me excuse to explore the market while I decide when to replace the battery in this phone. Now back to watching the video.

Just upgrade the pump for better flow, cutting the excess hose will help to reduce flow problem. Work for aquariums canisters :3 will work on this too
