Icefury is the reason I havent played Ele in years. A lot of people like the "complex" rotation, I just think it takes away from the rotation.

If you raid it is still in the rotation, but having to use it m+ is definitely not as fun.

Well, with the new Tier Set they are doing that. After you cast Prime Wave, your next 2 Lava Bursts also cleave 3 targets with Flame Shock on them. So you're going to get a TON of extra meatballs! And from testing this new build on the ptr a bunch, the Lava Surge procs were coming in super fast. It's gonna be awesome!

Would be great to have that back. We would actually have a decent 2 min CD!

@MrCarlWax That's what I actually first thought too while testing because I could not believe it myself. Then I watched hours of streams from the best ele shamans, and they also stated the garbage damage, so yea. Too bad.

The tier set nerf definitely hit the m+ damage really hard, no longer doing the crazy sustain around 500k dps, but it isn’t terrible damage. And low target counts it will be really good. It definitely won’t be great in any groups doing super higher keys due to the not great damage on high target counts 6 or 7+. Long story short, it will be pretty good on anything

The damage in M+ isn't bad at all. It's actually fantastic. Yes the nerfs took a hit to the damage, but you can easily sustain 200k-500k spikes of damage on AOE packs depending on the number of enemies and procs on Ascendance. It's never going to have the HUGE burst window that a Fire Mage has,(or likely Frost Mage in 10.2)... But it will have consistent, pack-to-pack damage and by the end of the dungeon, your overall will be just as high.

That's not the experience I've had. I've had the build bug out on my several times in game when only hitting target dummies. You might have experienced that as well. But the bottom line is, I've tested this in over 20 dungeons on the PTR now and it procs very consistently. There are def still times when it goes off at the end of a pull, which is super annoying, but over the entire dungeon run, it procs, on average, when i need it to and the damage is strong.

Ele has some group utility. It has the problem you identified in raid, but in m+ you have everything enhance does(wind fury won’t be used in m+) except for way less damage in aoe.

@@beastlyshotzful Technically you can do good damage in AOE, just not with the spec many people are trying to go with. However, it isn't top tier, either AOE or ST, and any of its group utility is better brought by Enh or ANY OTHER CLASS. They even added insult to injury and made Ele give the lowest amount of mana from Mana Spring, in a patch where healers were supposed to care about mana again. Blizzard has done everything possible to make sure that Ele is not wanted or useful for ANY CONTENT. To bring one, is to simply make your group worse. To play one, is to simply make what you as a player can bring, less valuable. They have blatantly told Ele players. "We'd rather you not play with spec." Any of you that try, we'll make sure you fail.

This is simply not true. The only thing you don't bring as Ele Shaman is a raid buff. The damage in M+ is phenomenal, even with the recent nerfs. The utility on Shaman is WAYY better then a lot of other classes. Poison Cleanse Totem can literally solo the Afflicted Affix week... Thunderstorm can knock enemies out of Sanguine, or knock them up as an AOE CC. You have double stun from Cap Totem. You can remove Charm and Fear, You can reduce phys damage taken with Stoneskin totem... You can take an AOE root totem, you've got a purge and a hex, and the best kick in the entire game. The utility is insane. Yes, Enhance has this as well, but the damage between Enhance vs Ele is way closer now then on live servers. It's going to be a banger of a season!
