Build on his success? The only thing Jackson State can do is go 12-1 or 13-0 and win the Celebration Bowl every season. Colorado is the same program that won the 1990 I-A national championship, was a perennial powerhouse before the scandals in the early 2000s under Gary Barnett, and has a strong recruiting base across the entire southwest and California. If Deion can trick a 5-star recruit into coming to Jackson State, surely he can get several five-star recruits to come to Boulder with their superior facilities and football tradition.

I graduated from my HBCU in 2021 and when I saw Deion was coaching at Jackson I knew this would be huge for the men and students at that school. I even have a friend on the team that's one of Deion's favorites lol So when I heard he was considering offers from other schools I was really disappointed. Deion has brought more attention, respect and resources to Jackson State, which has led to benefits for football programs across HBCUs. His staying at JSU would be about more than just winning champions and bowl/classic games. It would show that there is so much value available beyond just the big schools. He is already successful and well known. Now he’s sharing the wealth. I think being able to transfer his main guys is going to be a big piece to the puzzle, and when you run into a 1-11 power 5 school willing to pay the money all the other power 5's can pay and on top of that you have top notch facilities in a beautiful city... being able to bring all the kids you had... come on this isn't a tough one. If you go to Florida State you put your son's at the top of scrutiny for every loss vs big time competition, this is an absolute mastercraft of a move by him. Once his son's are out of the picture and hes just a coach, he can take better jobs.. the man is playing 5D chess.

@TrueGbPimp06
@TrueGbPimp06 Рік тому
@@Trippypaws68 Well if you watch the press conference , he even stated his son was the QB prior to the portal even being open. Also just look at Lincoln Riley going from OU to USC and directly bringing Caleb Williams. Also JSU isn't a D1 school so I am not sure the NCAA is directly worried about who comes from that school and what the involvement would be. Anyone in Jackson worried about players following Deion are not seeing the bigger picture, this is about elevation , JSU is going to be in a better spot for the next 20 years because of the 3 years Deion put into that school. CU needs the same help and I think it's honorable of him to take a job at a school that for the past 25 years has been basically irrelevant. Now I do think that has a lot to do with his players being able to start for said school, but this man could have landed any job he wanted had he of just waited for his opportunity, but he knew his son's needed a bigger platform to elevate them to the next level.

The reality is the big schools would not let Deion be "Prime Time" and that is the issue. They would want a more toned down version and that's just not who he is. His personality and swag is through the roof even at an older age, and that's what makes him special and draws those kids to him. But those big programs with their snobbish millionaire boosters would not want that and that's why if he left JSU I don't think he would be happy somewhere like FSU or Colorado. And the first losing season at those big schools he would be out the door as they don't have the love for him like that. His presence at JSU is sooo impactful on a different level to those kids. There have been great HBCU grads, (e.g. Dixie Garr), but that was a long time ago (70's), now graduation rates have dropped and competition has lowered. Will the other sports be able to recruit like he would in football and the answer is probably no. So maybe be like the Irish and be independent so the football program can pick and choose.
