The Mythbusters actually had this same result, but they assumed that since the bullet didn't go anywhere, the myth that one of the 'froghunters' was shot and had to go to a hospital was busted. Back then I already noticed that they overlooked that the schrapnel of the casing could do some damage too. Actually they completely proofed the myth, but called it busted...

That urban legend was enough to stop me from cramming any round in any fuse block 🤣 I'd be stuffing copper, gum wrappers (before they changed them) screwdrivers, coppers bolts twice, etc... this was really interesting to see and I'm surprised I never thought to test it.

I remember when that story first came out. My friends and I actually did that in my old Chevy nova and it did put casing fragments in the bottom of the seat and the plastic kick panel. We never found the bullet.

I never used a bullet to replace a fuse, but I have used a Juicy Fruit wrapper and a Marlboro wrapper. Being broke was no fun as a teen!

@@TopShotDustinfor sure. I’m just going off of what I remember. I think they used an old pickup truck to do it. I remember it going off on the show, but I don’t remember what the consequences for a person sitting in the drivers seat by the fuse box would’ve been.
