The fact Morton played through a shoulder injury all year that was serious enough to still keep him out just tells me how tough he is & how bad he wants to be out there. He’s going to have a heckuva year.

I wanted to stand up and beat my chest all during Casey's rant on the portal leading to guys not grinding through and learning from adversity. That's the thing I hate the most about the portal. One of my favorite things about sports has always been the life lessons that come from fighting through adversity. I'm not going anywhere but I hate the way it is now.

B12 Championship is up for grabs. The offense has to take it and not be a bystander. Every team is going to have injuries and a long list of excuses of why this why that. Working better with what you got compared to the bloke on the other side of the field is the name of the game. The portal is a circus. A lot can be gained from it. Who is going to step up at RB and be the Robin to Tahjs Batman? Or be the Hulk or Speedy Gonzalez as their own character? We should have at least 3-4 deep in the RB department all salivating at getting that pig over the line. He who takes it the distance gets first shot at taking it over the line. Kittleys performance against Cal showed how he is starting to piece it together. RPO's ( at the college level almost unstoppable ), big slants TDs and yards to Tharpe , running Tahj. I would add a lot of counter run plays, speed options, 3 TE jumbo sets, and more different looks for the run game to keep the defense on their heels. I would incorporate the QB into more yards with his wheels ( while not taking damage ). If the pocket breaks down and hes flushed scramble mode activated first option to get the ball in the air down field while on the run second option take yards with the wheels. Mahomes is good at that. Assimilating information downfield while second nature navigating the pocket while on the scramble. Streamlined, Kittley should have put up 60 points and put the Cal Bears to sleep early on in the game when the Bears were asking for a bed time story. He has to impose his will on the game. Like running the same damn play over and over and over until they cant stop it do it. Switch it up then get back to that same damn play over and over and over. RPO gives you a lot of options. Down field defenders getting beat for a pass. The RB running the ball. The QB running the ball. The QB throwing the ball. The QB running while scanning for down field opportunities through the air. We can RPO, spread out, jumbo, we have a lot of options. Good TEs. Great RB. Who wants to go 12-0 as the QB? B12 Championship is up for grabs.

Parsing DeRuyter's words, Tech may be at the very valuable position of platooning our defensive line so as not to wear down. Good place to be.

That is what they told us last year about replacing Wilson as a pass rusher with the OLB/Edge rush.

Joey mentioned Rodriques. It sounded to me like he was saying, in a roundabout way, that he may not be ready for P5 football yet. He said something like, he's huge and can engulf people, but he's only played high school and junior college football and now he's stepped up another level and it's a learning process. Personally, I think they would love to redshirt him. JMO.

I think we need to be really honest about Morton's shoulder. Medical Redshirt him and go get a 1 year QB.. I hate it, i wish it wasn't a need, it will throw off the development timeline of our QBs in waiting (Hammond) but we can't squander this year..

That is an overly dramatic approach. There is nothing to suggest that Morton won't be ready by the start of the season and if he is ready he is the best option we have.

@@TheRR4LIFE No it's pretty wild. Again, there is no indication, at all, that Morton won't be ready by fall camp and there is no evidence that he would benefit from a medical redshirt, or that he would even qualify for one.

We can’t keep hoping that an injury prone qb will stay healthy. Bowman couldn’t. Tyler couldn’t. Behren can’t. We can hope for the best, but if he is still having issues months after his last game, perhaps he should be shelved until he is 100%

I think that is why they shut Morton down now. Behind him is a QB who played at West GA University, a SO who played in 6 qtrs last year & threw 6 picks with 2 TDs, and a true FR who could be the best of the lot. On Paper, Morton and Hammond are the only legit Big 12 caliber QBs we have on the roster.
