Heavy snowstorm in the cold mountains . Imagine you lying in bed under a thick warm blanket listening to the icy howling wind and falling snow on the roof. No noises from people talking and heavy traffic keeping you awake. These howling wind sounds are the best background sounds for sleeping, relaxing and studying. We hope you enjoy this calming winter ambience! Good sleep!!
◼ All my soundscape videos are made in high quality with editing programs such as Vegas Pro, Photoshop and Audacity, and take many hours / days of editing and mixing to create. The equipment I use to record the audio are the Zoom H5 or H6 recorder + Audio-Technica BP4025 microphone, and for the videos I use the GoPro Hero6. Some video and audio files are made in collaboration with other video / audio creators with all the licenses & commercial use rights that are necessary. I mixed these video or audio files with the creation of myself. Sometimes I use a photo and make a moving video of it.

Yesssssss. Also the warmth of a soup 🍜 or coffee☕️ or tea 🍵. Absolutely amazing. I live in South Carolina so I definitely have yet to experience the full effects of a real winter storm. But I can only imagine.🤩 I’ve always found something so strangely comforting in a raining cold storm. I LOVE snow.⛄️

This reminds me of my childhood. Used to live beside the city of Saint-Petersburg, Russia. Some winters were snowy and windy and I used to lay in my warm bed listening to the singing blizzard outside. Feeling really grateful for the warmth of our apartment giving us shelter. Good old times.

There are many winter sounds videos out there, but this one has the most balanced sound. The blizzard is rowdy enough that you want to get inside and sleep...but it doesn't have all of that high-pitched howling that takes away from sleep. This one has a nice rhythm to it The visual is perfect too!

The high pitch howling takes me back 40 + years growing up alongside the Atlantic ocean in Northern Newfoundland. Those old fashioned winters were quite something especially when you're somewhat isolated. One way in and out, many times snowbound. For quite some time I knew nothing about the outside world, 2 channels on tv and a radio. Good times and even better memories. Peace

I grew up in New England in a home surrounded by the woods. I wasn’t the most social kid and I was happy with my own company. I would spend hours playing outside in the snow, making forts and climbing trees. And every now and then I would just stop and look up. Sometimes I’d just fall back, into the soft snow. And I’d listen. This is the sound I would hear. Ahh, so relaxing. Near silence. It was a simple time of my life, one I miss dearly. Sometimes I wish I could return to it, even just for a moment.

Hey you. Yes, you. You're probably scrolling through the comments, like I am, reading all these motivational comments. If you are reading this at night, you should get some sleep, and don't stress about everything going on in the world, or what you are going through. Don't dwell on things from the past, don't stress on your future. Just live your life, because you only get one. Do whatever makes you happy, not what other people want from you. This is where I live, along with my folks and sister and her family in the adjacent cabins. We have plenty of firewood for the winter and our food supply will last us months. We have frozen and dried meats, preserved fruits, nuts and seeds. Right now I'm resting in my coziest chair, beneath a pair of quilts, beside the fireplace. I have a shelf full of books but I'm a bit too tired to read. Perhaps I'll just close my eyes and listen to the wind whip against the window panes. The world is scary sometimes, but I am at peace now in my simple cabin, in the remotest of places, beneath the blanket of snow.

I watched a reconstruction of George Washington's cabin. He wrote down all the dimensions of the cabin,fireplace,etc.. . I forget exactly but the fireplace walls we're every bit 2 feet wide or thick. Logs were used to give it structure and then clay mixed with straw was packed in for stability. Ofcourse it narrowed some going up to the chimney but it had to be stout. So I believe they would pack on massive layers and keep that fire raging . Still I'm sure it would get very cold.

Being in the middle of nowhere it takes a while for anyone getting around to fixing your power so I believe we were out for two days or so. Me my mother and sister grabbed a bunch of blankets and sat in front of the fireplace and had some candles lit for light if we needed to go to the bathroom or something. We didn't talk a lot we just sat in front of the fire and listened to the storm rage outside. Then after the power came back we made ice cream with the snow lol .

It’s dark, cold, barren, bleak, and very seldom used. Wood stacked crookedly by the unlit fireplace. I couldn’t see much else through the window. The door itself was frozen over and refused to budge by the force of my weight. My body was covered in what leather and fur I could fit over my old t-shirt and jeans. The frozen water stuck to strands of my unkempt hair, shimmering slightly in the darkened, snowy climate. The cold wind blew rapidly along my exposed skin, leaving behind goosebumps. I shivered before forcing myself to bash up against the door some more before it finally flew open. I stumbled and tripped over my own feet, landing face-first on the cold, hardwood floor. Light poured into the room, and I could see more clearly. It was empty, ruined, and sad. The dust lying thick on the ground, blown back by the wind rushing into the building. The fireplace looked like it hadn’t been used in years, even before this all started. The firewood was rotten and wouldn’t be good for long fire fuel. But, it could still be used. I reached into my pocket and pulled out some flint and steel. The room was freezing. I picked one of the pieces of firewood up and laid it into the fireplace. I spent a few minutes using the flint and steel to light the piece of wood. A small flame erupted and I shivered, drawing closer to the fire. Putting the flint and steel away, I let out a small breath of relief as I took off my furs and leather. I yawned, stretching after the long journey I’ve had thus far. Glancing out towards the woods, I knew I had to find wood more suitable for a fire. I heard the sudden slight crunching of snow outside and turned around. The blizzard wind howling, I listened and I squinted, attempting to see anyone or anything. I stood up and slowly put on my leather, and walked out the door. I shivered from the cold and looked from right to left. I heard some more steps and saw a deer. I sighed, before hearing the crackle from the fire die out. I started to stoke the flames to keep them alive, before giving up. Standing up, I walked out deciding to get wood. I walked from the woods having gathered around ten pieces of wood for the fire. I walked into the room, before promptly dropping the various logs. I couldn’t help but notice the remains of a few books towards one of the sides of the room. Nothing too good, I found a diary or journal, a few stained picture books, and a few book series that I could use for fire. I sighed, before lighting the fire once more. The fire re-ignited, the warmth draping itself over me like a heated blanket. I breathed into my hands, rubbing them together to combat my numb fingers. I could feel the burning feeling, as if my skin was being lit on fire underneath the fire light's glow. Looking out of the open door, the snow covered trees obscured my view of the mountain. The blizzard outside made the world seem even worse than it already was. I doubt it could get worse than this. I sighed, clutching onto a piece of firewood as my stomach grumbled, giving way to a dull ache as my hunger finally showed itself. How long has it been since I last ate, I wondered. Hours? Days? Weeks? The snow blotting out the sun made it impossible to know. My exhaustion made me think it was longer, but I could be very wrong. The problem of food still persists, my neglected hunger needed to be satiated. I could have sworn I packed enough when I left, how long has it been since this all started? Months? Years? Honestly, I prefer not knowing. We all die anyway, I would prefer to not mull over how much time I may have left. If I'm being honest, dying might not be such a bad idea. The promise of eternal rest. How long would it take to freeze if I put this fire out right now? An hour, maybe two if God hates me. How long could I get away with not drinking, or eating? I reckon a few days at best. Why can't I remember? I know the answer. I doubt people would cry over one more death in this damn wasteland. To give up. What a blessing that would be. To smile and laugh as death took me to what comes after. What would I be faced with? Streets of gold with hundreds of angels and fellow friends? Eternal damnation to a burning wasteland? Nothing? I'll find out eventually. Why prolong the inevitable? I sighed, No. I'm too much of a coward for that. If I had the guts for that unpleasantness, I wouldn't be here. I let my body fall back as I rested my head against the furs. Tired. I am so tired. (Just a little something i wrote. Pls don't steal it might become something more.)

I must share some memories from winter '92/'93. My sister just got from college for Hollidays and we got together with few friends in our big living room with big fireplace. There was blues from 1960s playing on old Dual record player. Outside there was howling wind and dry snow. Inside, well there was like some other space and time. Now, when I think about it, these were best memories of my life. One of these friends is still my good friend, here and now in Zagreb, Croatia.

Now that i’m a bit older, these cold times, where the sun hides, are my biggest nightmare. Seasonal depression, and being unable to enjoy happy times because of grief are hard. But i hope one day i won’t be dreading the coming of snowy days, like i am lately.
