It's not dollar store craft hot glue. It's industrial grade adhesive that comes in a form to be applied in a "glue gun" for tacking edges and narrow areas. They still use the industrial latex adhesive to lock the yarn fibers and attach the backing. Again, it's not craft glue...

A traditional Turkish carpet is beautiful but this will wear better. A carpet that size is probably for a place with lots of people. I had traditional rugs from Turkey, Iran, Morocco, but the daylight in my country is the harshest in the world and they faded. They were never in direct light, but indirect light is bad enough. So now I only have rugs with chemical dyes.
