The internal aspect ratio of all non-clamshell foldable phones are still garbage. Galaxy Flex S is what a foldable device SHOULD BE.

I agree they did a good job on the hardware side of things but the price is deceiving. Or more accurately not ideal for people that don't live in China. Importing it will make it almost as expensive as the Z4. Also Samsung Care is a life saver. Just a few things to consider. It does look awesome though, wish they sold it here in the states.

Larger front screen, less noticeable crease, faster charging, feels like a normal phone folded, flex or viewable modes easy with the provided kickstand case, larger screen and cheaper. Xiaomi for me.

@@johnmc3862 Cheaper if you live in China but not anywhere else. Import costs will be high.. also you can’t purchase insurance so if anything happens you’re screwed. Don’t get me wrong I think the device is sexy, but there are other things to consider not just that.

Is it a better camera? The fold is just recycling the s22 camera

Hi Ben, sorry for late reply was busy with work etc... anyhow I fiinally got my hands on a Mix Fold 2! :) Good lord Xiaomi MiUi is the most convoluted bloated OEM UI SKIN I've come across! It's a mind field to get the western apps notifications, default status etc working... but in the end I got all my apps working no problem, no rooting needed either. :) Uninstalled pretty much all of the Chinese bloatware apps, only handful system apps remain as they can't be uninstalled. One needs a lot of patience and perseverance to get these Chinese only phones working close to normal as a western android phone!! Anyhow for me it was worth it, really impressed, the hardware wise in IMHO is on another level to Galaxy Z Fold 4, crease is subtle and actually I think the inner screen with AR is better than Samsungs, this what the Fold 4 should have looked like! I've owned both Fold 2 and 3 and yes software wise Samsung is way ahead of the pack but I would take the Xiaomi Fold 2 any day of the week granted it has no IP rating, Flex mode and no camera on the inner screen none of which of bother me save for the software experience! Bottomline Software aside from my perspective Xiaomi Fold 2 is currently the best Fold phone to date! Hopefully Samsung takes design cue from Mix Fold 2 for next years Galaxy Fold 5. Tip, if you have UKposts Vanced installed then you can zoom video and fill up the entire inner screen.:)

Would normal SMS work (google messages)? Does it allow the google App Store? What is the situation with GPS considering its a china phone? Does yours have 5G connectivity albeit I don’t even have 5G in my area in the UK as I live in a rural area. I use 1Password a lot, can this be added to the phone? @@MarkLennard I have been using the Mix Fold 2 for over couple of months now and it's awesome from a hardware perspective, with great in-hand feeling and the cover screen is usable just like a normal phone, IMHO its definitely better than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, 3 & 4! Yes it has Google Play Store so GPay/Wallet works in fact all Google apps work as well as all the UK bank apps no issues, 5G works great I'm on EE However, my biggest gripe is the OTT battery management of MIUI 13 it is a pain!! Sometimes there is a 10s lockout to enable third-party apps for accessibility etc... Even when you have enabled this after a while MIUI will randomly disable it in the background so you have to go through the whole process again so frustrating!!!!! Maybe because it's a Chinese ROM that's its so aggressive either way for that reason alone I'm currently deliberating to jump ship for another fold, will most likely be an Honor Magic VS which is definitely getting a global release so the software should be better optimised for the western market, also very keen on the Google Pxel Fold due ETA May 23 Show less

@@MiRas1973 I’m gonna hold off on them and also wait to see what 2023 brings for UK versions .. I’ve had the Z fold 4 twice now and sent it back twice as I just can’t get along with the front screen and in normal day to day use when you are waking along you just don’t want to have to open up the the large screen..

@@MarkLennard That was also my issue with Fold 2 & 3 the front screen was too narrow could not use it as a normal phone always had to open it up very frustrating! Also, that crease was too deep it used to bug me a lot!.

@@johnmc3862 I find my everyday phone, an S21U, too wide to use comfortably with one hand. It's also very tall, so reaching the top isn't always easy without shuffling. Shorter and narrower will be good for most times and if I want a big 2 hand experience then I fold it out. That's the theory anyway, let's see how i find it in practice.

@@bensgadgetreviews The only difference (software aside) is that with Galaxy Fold, the hinge itself does the work to stop the phone at multiple angles, and mix fold 2 does that with the help of the kickstand. With kickstand help, you can also keep the Mix Fold 2 open at multiple angles.
