Being in the business for some fifty years I learned to ignore these people and stay on the property I'm taking care of. Also knowing this about the neighbor I would ware my ear protection head mounts. As long as they didn't get over the line I was just deaf to their ranting. If worse came to worse call the cops! First call the owner of the home that you are taking care of and let them know about the situation. Another thing we would do is charge an aggravation fee. We would leave a note on company stationary on the door about this, be nice inform the customer that this new surge charge would begin with the next visit. Unless we hear different it would go into effect. Don't be mild with the new added fee, generally we added fifty dollars to each visit and that is just on a normal residential property around three to five thousand sq. ft. The problem was solved about ninety nine percent of the time. You have to much other stuff to worry about than this!!

I deal with the same stuff where I live. Our neighbors think they own everything and mow our lawn and freak if we step foot on theirs. We have hired a surveyor to solve it. What a nightmare this can be. We started recording their behavior and documenting it as well. Ludicrous.

I developed a subdivision fifteen years ago and when the city planners asked about the HOA documents I told them they were dictatorial organizations and I wasn't going to impose that on anyone. If the homeowners wanted an HOA they could organize and establish one themselves but making it part of the deed covenants wasn't going to have my fingerprints on it.

Mowed yards for 37 years in Texas, and only had about a dozen people act this bad. At first I tried to reason with them, but finally just started ignoring them. They just want to let off steam at an easy target. Don't take it personally.

Had a client / neighbor like this years ago (landscaping). He wanted us to build a natural stone wall out front. Built from the rocks in the side and back yards (high mountain development, rich neighborhood). Apparently for years this guy and his neighbor argued about the property line and we "got too close" to his property pulling up rocks. No lie, they both come out and starting arguing with each other as we stood there flummoxed. The things we heard about them "knowing people" and "having problems solved" and flat out threats were amazing. Cops get called, my supervisor back at the shop says to stay there and give our statements, but cease all work. We talk to the cops and once everything gets nearly wrapped up with the police, they inform us that these two individuals are "retired from the mob." We watched 2 mobsters pretty much start a war with each other over fuckin rocks. It's been about 20 years since then and I often wonder if someone has "won the war." Amazing houses by the way ($1 Mil+ houses), rich in finances but poor in what matters in life.....
