@@ulty1472 A horrible song with good vocals can get the same results as a good song with horrible vocals. Czechia and Macedonia from 2021 as examples.

@@ulty1472 You need to make an original song for that competition, and while the singing is obviously a crucial part of the judging, you can't just come and do Waterloo again. You need to have an original song. The contestants will perform their song in the semis and then again in the finals if they advance, and their performance has to be precisely the same with both. And so, if they win, it's not just Abba that wins it. It's Abba *with* their song Waterloo.

If you start to check out how each countries "judges" vote, there is bunch of clear bias voting because our countries are allies shit going on. Then there is televotes aka audience votes, which sometimes are complete opposite to judges. Not complete opposite but pretty clear example of how "biased" and how honestly shit the "judges" taste in music is, comes from 2023, Finland pulling second highest audience votes ever, and not winning and losing to song that didnt even get to top 10 audience votes list. Fun fact, we have 2 spots in the top 10, 2006 and 2023. 2006 especially funny, since basically every "expert" said Lordi has no chance and its basically embarrasment to the country to send them, only for Lordi to literally break the voting record and bring home the first win for Finland, yeah the "experts" can just straight up fck off, their taste in music is basically, if it aint pop or emo its shit, anything else they dont like.

Simply cause most countries wouldn't want them and ultimately no matter how good the song from the US artist is, they would get zero points solely cause its the US. But if the argument you make is based solely in geography then say goodbye to Israel, Australia, Turkey can't come back, Morocco cant return ever, also Cyprus, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, and argument against Malta as well.

ok? Some Europeans haven’t heard about the voice or America’s got talent. America controls the media, so it’s not surprising that Eurovision isn’t well known. Maybe in Europe because it OCCURS there, but Eurovision is not talked about media wise.

Yes, yes. We know that you guys don't want us there, and we're not trying to directly intrude. I think the point was that if we ever were invited, then we should take that opportunity. Many of Americans aren't as self-centered as other countries seem to believe, at least not in my area.

@@saxx9088 fair argument, and we really don't want much to do with it. There's a proposal for us to join in 2021, but it would actually be most centered around state competition, then national competition, then worldwide competition. Americans would be happy enough to beat each other in the state vs state competition that we would probably be ok with not winning the worldwide competition.
