Yuki is proof that if you’re patient with a driver, they’ll eventually succeed. I remember when people were calling him spinoda in 2021. Yuki thrives in pressure. Props to FT for keeping him on. Given how RB tosses his drivers around , Yuki actually has been lucky that he had those years to develop with no one in the pipeline. But he really fought himself through it, really hope to see him in a competitive Car in the near Future.
@The_MostHigh
@The_MostHigh 11 місяців тому
Your all deluded, there is no pressure as the driver beside him keeps binning it. Yuki got destroyed by Gasly and we have no idea how good he is driving this year because the other driver is a fish. That Alpha Tauri can probably get double the points that Yuki has already, how can i tell, because Gasly literally collected double Yukis points 3 years in a row. Yuki needs to be consistent this year or he is done, Red Bull always run a clear No1 and clear No2 so as long as he is not off the scale slow and inconsistent he probably will get the seat over a Norris or Leclerc. Not because he is fast or WDC material, he will collect enough points while being no threat to Max. It ticks me off that people just parrot what is suggested to them by the media, do people actually have brains anymore these days? George is bad and selfish, Yuki is improving, Mick deserves another shot, Danny is good and will be back, Mercedes no pods is the problem - are some examples that come to mind

@@The_MostHigh If you're using points to measure Yuki's performance this year compared to other years, you're wrong already. This year has the distinction of having a TOP 4 team instead of the usual top 3. This means 8 out of the 10 points scoring positions are basically out of contention. 2 point scoring positions for the 6 teams remaining, and Alpine is easily the best of the rest. Almost getting into points for several races IS consistent. What are you talking about?
@The_MostHigh
@The_MostHigh 11 місяців тому
@@junsengjs Gasly got double Yukis points 3 years in a row, therefore Yuki was destroyed by Gasly. In the grand scheme of things Gasly is a decent driver, not magnificent so for him to own Yuki 3 years in a row is very telling. If Gasly was still in the Alpha Tauri i would expect him to have double Yukis points again, based on history, it is not rocket science. DeVries is a terrible driver, he keeps crashing and is very slow so we really have no idea how fast that car is this season. It is like when Kmag was with Mick, Kmag looked fast as hell but it was just that Mick was slow and inconsistent. Now Kmag is matched with the Hulk, Kmag looks terrible.

Yuki has incredible talent and that's why Red Bull and Alpha Tauri have shown patience when it comes to keeping him (and I don't believe it has anything to do with Honda). I remember Franz Tost saying when Yuki started driving for Alpha Tauri that he'd rather have a fast driver that makes mistakes in his team that a slow driver. He could work with the 1st one to shape him in a great driver more easily. Indeed this year was clearly Yuki's last chance in the team and he has absolutely delivered so far. Very happy for him.

It took only two years for Yuki to become an F1 driver after he started racing in Europe. This career is rare among F1 drivers. He also showed his talent in some races, although he made mistakes easily and destroyed cars often. If you added together the points of all the other drivers who have raced for Jenzer from 2019 to the end of 2022 it would be less than the total Tsunoda scored in that one season. That’s how poor that team is. He was very underprepared for F1 however and it showed in the first year. In 2022 however he was clawing it back, and in the final half of the season from Spa onwards he was a match for Gasly. He has actually been in the battle for points at every race from Japan onwards with the one exception of Brazil. @@Duval-In-The-Wall Lance's career is different than Yuki's. In quite a few ways I'd say. Lance has been in the sport since 2017 iirc, while Yuki only entered in 2021. The AM car is getting better and the AT car is getting worse. Lance's father owns the team, while Yuki has to perform (or he will possibly get replaced by Iwasa). Finishing in the middle of the table with the almost worst car on the grid is indeed something to give credits to.

This was a Masterclass not only in F1 analysis, but also in sports presentation in this format. I didn't have to have seen any F1 to fully grasp the content. This was really really good. And I I agree and disagree with your opinion, it's not just Yuki who's showing signs of brilliance this season; he knows he has to perform, at this juncture. To me, it's more panic than maverick... maybe I'm wrong..like you said, it's all or nothing plus nyck is the new g.o.a.t. .

Maybe it's due to recency bias but his form at the start of races has been fascinating to watch.

Yuki's had an amazing few races recently (even his Mexican GP disaster was still a P12 finish when he started in P18. And he has single-handedly moved Alpha Tauri past Haas in the championship standings. (LL+DR have lifted them further up the standings, past Alfa Romeo into 8th). P9 in Brazil main race, P6 in Brazil sprint, P8 at Austin. His head to head with Liam and then Ricciardo continues his domination at Alpha Tauri. He's at the level where he could honestly challenge for a podium in these last two races. (The car has also been improved considerably, showing that AT's languishing at the bottom of the Championship was never his fault.) And 2024? It's gonna be glorious.

Redbull was harsh on him from the gecko. He was told to retire racing if he failed in F2 on his rookie air. He is mentally strong now and has raw talent. Redbull has made monster Yuki

He has a less skilled team mate this year though, so some of the points made like all the points scored being by him are somewhat expected but it's good to see him improving.

Ever since they forced him on campus. They put him on a workout regiment, and started to REALLY mold him into a phenomenal athlete first, Tsunoda's has started to belive that he is as quick as these other drivers. Stand him up next to guys like Esteban, or Mich, and Guanyu. His trajectory is in a league of it's own. Easy to argue with him in a quick car he will score podiums. Helps that he probably brings a GRIP of money to the team with backing from ALL of CHINA!

I can't help but think that maybe AT throwing him slightly worse cars for every year is actually good for him? It means that he can push a bit harder and learn to find the limits without shunting or spinning out every time. That, combined with his increased physical shape and him learning some patience might be a really good way for him to grow as a driver!

Honestly thinking about it. If Checo Retires in 2024 (i doubt that he will anytime soon, but let's say he does for this scenario) I see him being one of the top canadates for that RB seat. Him and max do have good chemistry and I'm not sure if they want to put daniel and max back together after last time. But I think Max has matured, and it would be a fantastic partnership.

I think, in a counter intuitive way, his honesty is what (for me) makes him likeable. As to his admission about his being unprepared for F1, that sort of thing has been talked about by numerous drivers from different generations. Take Jenson Button for example, like Tsunoda he drove his debut season in a good car, the Williams, that (it could be said) masked his lack of experience. He admitted years later that at 20 years old, he wasn't ready for F1. However, both the not putting too much pressure on him and flashes of what he was capable of meant that Frank Williams and Patrick Head were overall impressed with how he handled his debut season, coming 8th in the standings and his standout drive being a 4th place finish in Hockenheim after a back of the grid start (displaying that mixed weather condition feel that would define his later career). But, it was driving a dreadful Benetton and having a far less supportive team boss in Flavio Briatore in 2001 that could have spelled doom for his career. In his book, he admitted to not getting on with Briatore, who would criticise Button, publicly, for poor performance, which would make Button anxious to perform, which in turn only made his performance worse. It became a viscious cycle. Despite his finishing 2001 a dismal 17th in the standings with only a fifth place at Hockenheim (through a race of attrition) to show for his work, he greatly improved for 2002 with the team rebadged as Renault. Although he was shocked to be shown the door by the team in favour of Alonso, it was clear, by the way what was then BAR greeted him on his first day, that he was going to a team that hadn't forgotten his standout performances from the past. The rest, as they say, is history

Concerning drivers who got comparable car quality in their rookie seasons, you forgot Norris in 2019 with the MCL34 which was easily the 4th best car Just a minor nitpick though, great video!
