No, this build does great later on as well... The fire build would do better in dungeons with huge aoe pulls, like a Nokhood or Algeth'ar, but this build hits very hard... Just gotta play it well and you'll be smacking the DPS charts.

For sure! But then you're missing the 15% constant damage from Electrified Shocks then, and you are spending less time casting L-Bolt or Chain-L, which means you're getting less CDR on your other nature spells like Stormkeeper and Storm Ele.

@Zuco WoW I've really only knock off roughly 30 sec off ele anyway and I like have nature's vigil and storm keeper on same cd since they sync pretty well with my burst rotation. Pop nature's vigil then storm keeper so you can use to 2 storm keeper chain lighting to give you enough maelstrom for ele blast which nature vigil makes insta cast which gives you a echoes proc and if you have a lava surge proc use your free lava burst giving you more maelstrom and giving you 20% more to the already 140% earthquake. Because storm keeper making chain lighting insta doesn't consume nature vigil til you cast your first hard cast spell. Aslo, if you get a aftershock proc after ele blast you get 4 insta cast burst which goes chain-l, chain-l, ele blast, echo empowered earthquake. It's the way i play it and I find it easier to juggle since ele already has alot of button and if you don't want to add 2 more mandatory spells like ice fury and frost shocks into your rotation to try and keep up your damage buff since I know alot of people find it tough and more complicated to play the frozen storm playstyle which steer people to play just the fire side because it's easier

In single target for sure, but aoe no unless the target count is like two or something.

Haste is huge. You want something like 25%... Then Mastery is actually fine because you're investing talents into Overload damage. Crit is also really strong. It's mostly about getting to a solid amount of haste. :)

You can absolutely keep your Earth Ele if you want him as he is on the class tree and won't mess with the spec side... Unfortunately for Ele Shaman, When they summon their Greater Elementals, they cancel each other out. It's really bad design on Blizzard's end... So, you'd just have to watch out for that.

I feel like this build is more dependent on being stationary than the wildfire build. The latter (although has a few casts) it plays a lot with instant cast spells. I personally had a blast with fire build last expansion and prefer it to the lightning build this season too, but that's personal choice.

@@kostasrh9529 that's what I'm liking this expansion is the variety of builds. Pros/cons to different situations and playstyles. Feels good

@@cam9144 it's a win for dps shamans in terms of design. Although, tuning could get some thought though, especially to minimize weaknesses of some builds (like ST dmg for m+ builds etc).

This is exactly my problem with fire build. I hate the extra work to spread flameshock, and then just hoping for deeply rooted elements to proc on a chance. Sometimes nothing happens and my dmg sucks incredibly. Prefer the consistency of this lightning build, but somehow the overall damage still lags behind fire...

Definately my favourite build, but ya the damage isn't there. They could buff lightning rod a bit, would help the single target and aoe at the same time, and change earthquake so we can cast it on a target and have the aoe work off that target instead of putting it on the ground and hope that enemy's stay in it.

Haha, my point is that we've taken Storm Ele with more of a focus on Chain Lightning for AoE damage in the past several expansions. The popular "Wildfire" build is more of a recent iteration since Shadowlands season 4 with an emphasis on casting Lava Bursts. Obviously we use LB in all builds.

/cast [@cursor] Earthquake Can be used on any totems as well. Useful for stun and root totems. I suggest using a cursor add on that puts a circle around your cursor so it's easier to find in screen when things get hectic.

I believe the "cast at cursor" macro is as close as you can get, you'd just have to make sure you can see where your cursor is at all times... There is probably a way to do this though, I'm not just an expert in macros or addon stuff.

What are you talking about? lol... I made 1 mistake in the opener, it happens. I play All 3 specs of Shaman, and over 15 other specs in the game, it's alright if I make a few mistakes. The mistake didn't even matter in the end, the point was to walk through the rotations, and I did that very well. Your reaction here is super strange my dude.

The last time I saw, "then we're going into this" is not a spell !!! Neither is "then we're going into this", not a spell either. But you keep thinking that that sort of "guide or walk through" is ok. Can show that "then we're going into this" is a spell now for Shamans? Calling "then we're going into this" normal now huh? Not to mention lazy!!!
