Hi Jon, I’m just wondering if you’re aware of a channel called Found Ponds? It seems to be using short clips from your channel and also from Xanders…I’ve reported it anyway. All the best to you and Erin

Spring is my favorite time to paddle. The landscape is so varied. The solitude is guaranteed. Another great video. I miss that part of Canada and happy you bring it right into my livingroom. Thank you.

I love the photography shots, and exploring...I'm not a big fan of a lot of fishing...more exploring (that's just my preference)

I am not that experienced, but I do love the double blade paddle for almost everything. About 20 years ago, I thought my hands and wrists were done, also from computer work. Then I finally did that thing I thought would make them worse, worked out with weights. My hands are probably better now than they ever were. I get it now, if you strengthen a part of your body beyond what strength is required for those repetitive movements, then you are not straining to make them, it is a walk in the park. The excess strength is like having armour to protect yourself from injury.

Watching the videos you made in 2017 back in 2018 pushed my passion of the backcountry to another level, regardless of the camera quality. Thank you for the inspiration. Those older videos are gems, just like the new ones.

New to the channel, on a recommendation from a coworker to check it out. In today’s age of quick clips and instant gratification, I throughly enjoyed the 3 hr40 min video…mind you it took a couple evenings to watch it all. As Fleming grad , 1993, I had the pleasure of having Kevin Callan as a professor who @LostLakes mentions a couple times throughout

What's neat about your videos is that we get to see things like the gorge and waterfall that not many people get to see. If it weren't for you catching these things the way you do with the drone, I wouldn't see them either, ever.

During a trip on the Missinaibi, we noticed the same correlation and dubbed it "moose-fly syndrome." That is, when you a dense cloud of mosquitoes suddenly falls upon you, there's a good chance a moose is nearby.

If you ever get the chance to explore the US side of Lake Superior, you have to check out Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore along the Michigan coastline near Munising. The cliffs and caves are amazing. You can hike on top overlooking Lake Superior, you can canoe at the base, and I went scuba diving in some of the caves and all along the cliffs.

I Absolutely love this video! And what an honor it must've been to go tripping with Joe. I've admired both of you guys for awhile now (with a little added jealousy I might add) seeing what a blessing it must be to live in such a beautiful place. Thank you for documenting this journey so well. I look forward to more from you buddy. God bless.

thank you for the MAGIC. x so many really lovely glimpses of what you experience - I snorkel and the shots of the ice over hanging rocks at the edge of the shoreline really gave me that sense of the absorption and meditative feeling you must have where you're just experiencing it. thanks for filming that. absolutely brilliant. also - ice duck was fun.

47:52 I live in Madison, and been hearing about that canoecopia quite a bit lately. I’m originally from Michigan, right between Lake Superior and Michigan. Also went moose hunting in Ontario and that was one of the best hunting experiences I’ve ever had.

So Nice! -- QUESTION -- What about mosquitos? I heard that Canada has the worlds worst mosquito infestation as they never cleared them out. Not sure why, but it seems like they are everywhere from what I see online. No one likes having to cover themselves in chemical mosquito sprays all over your face arms and legs etc. Are you going during a certain period of the year? What gives as we would love to go except for their mosquito infestations.

I greatly enjoy your videos. When you landed on the first beach and set up the tent, I was incredulous that you picked up moose "feces" or droppings and said they were good to eat... that they were an acquired taste. I played that twice. When, where, how were you first exposed to that knowledge? How did you first react to that information?

All the best from Australia. Cheers Gerren

Never good to walk up on a potential black bear den. They can crawl into amazingly small holes. It could also have been a smoldering fire if you are in a burn area as it is common for forest fires to smolder underground in the roots all winter and start right back up in the spring.
