I think the US needs to take a page from Europe and Japan and build more high speed railways and bullet trains across states. Some cities have their own networks and my city has a monorail bullet train but it just takes you around downtown. I’d work in a different state if I could take a 1 hour bullet train

People in Latvia has mixed feelings about this project. Main reason for the railway is for support transportation in case of war. That is why the main railway most likely wont include connection with the airport. This project is extremely expensive for locals and there are little hope go get the money back. As we are little country and everyone knows everyone true someone there are lot of stories how bad construction is going on and how 60% of all budget is dedicated to paper pushing. And then there are those who lives in Riga and are pretty happy about the project. Main station(/shopping mall) needed some modern view and internal touchups. Not many plan to use this connection but it is grate to have an options.
