Rubbing alcohol is actually really hard to get to solidify, due to the fact that a system of alcochol and water can't form a stable enough crystall lattice, because alchol messes up water's hydrogen bonding. So, this syrupy heterogenous stuff is probably a lot of ice crystalls and a gooey liquid alcohol/water mix. The ethylene glycol/water mixes are used as an antifreeze for the same reason. Anyway, it was really interesting to watch all the 3 parts, thanks for good content!

There is simpler method. Just apply step voltage to inductor for short period of time and measure speed of increasing of current in the beginning of transient dI/dt. The inductance will be calculated as Voltage / (dI/dt). Using this method you can also observe how the inductance decreases while current rises and dI/dt also increases (meaning current rises faster). You can measure saturation current which is important for power applications using this method.

Put it in a sealed tank. That's what we need to know. Why? Cause eventually people will use single piston motor to turn pulley that have generator head that can power electric car motors. It would be nice to never have to buy hydrogen.

I would like to hear what improvements you would make if you did it over again. Fantastic video, thank you 😊 Also, what type of brazing rod did you use? Would you rather use a TIG welder in the future with shielding gas to make the connections?

If you use a circular tube and connect 3 disc-shaped figures, you can create a magical effect such as the movement of the planet Earth. How to install the discs: One must be inside the second. Of course, the first disc must be smaller than 3.
@ghooustsilvr2162
@ghooustsilvr2162 5 днів тому
Note: It is recommended to connect the first discs to the second with two intersecting points diagonally, and the second and third also diagonally, but the two diagonals must be opposite because the movement will generate rotation of the disc on the diagonal as an axis. I will leave the rest to your imagination.

The trick to lowering the power required is simple. If you apply a steady dc voltage, the bubbles created will cause the liquid to lose contact with the plates. So, instead of upping the power to jump the gap to get the current to the liquid... just pulse the current to allow the liquid to reconnect with the plates. This can be done with a 555 timer, and it can reduce the amperage needed so much that you need only mA, not full amps.

a really important point of your CO2 scrubber is something divers that use rebreathers talk about non-stop, which are CO2 channels. when you use coarse material like you made, it's very easy for channels to develop that the CO2 shoots through without hitting any of the scrub material. in rebreather diving, this is called a "CO2 hit". you may want to consider multiple scrub tanks, and give them a good shake from time to time, to reduce the likelihood of this happening.

A couple pro-tips on working with copper tubing: 1. To save yourself a ton of headache, invest in a pipe-bending spring or jig to get it perfectly straight. The poor-mans method for this is to straighten it out as best as possible, lay it on a flat surface, and then repeatedly roll it back and forth with your foot. It takes a while, but the copper pipe is soft enough that the rolling will eventually work all the small ripples out under its own weight with the rolling. Get a beer, sit in a chair, and roll roll roll. 2. Don't overwork the copper, or it will work harden. Do everything gently. Work hardening is not something you want with any pressurized system. 3. When coiling, if possible, cover one end with duct tape and fill the entire pipe with fine sand (or salt). If you live in a cold climate, you can also do this with frozen water, which is way easier, but you need a cold day for pipe this long. Tape the other end and then do your coiling. If possible, do this after inserting any inner pipes, to protect them, as well. You won't get any kinks this way and your coil will come out much better than without the fill. 4. When starting your coil, start by bending the tubing into a much bigger circle than you want to end up with (e.g., start with a trash can if you want a propane-tank sized coil). Clamp the object and gently wrap the big coils down onto the smaller form in a secondary step. I don't recommend any methods that require heating the tubing, as you risk messing with how the copper was annealed when created. All tricks I've learnt over the years from making tons of brewing wort chillers out of the exact same copper pipe.

Very good! A very clean guide through ESC design. The only mistake (that actually, almost all hobby ESCs have) is that you should not switch phases at zero-crossing. Zero-crossing happens in the middle of the current phase, not at the end. So you switch phases a little bit too early. That still works obviously, but it reduces efficiency and increases torque ripple.
