In France (french journalists of videogaming I was), I was the king at this game, with my teamate Teck Hao, with whom I trained from the very first Quake (the 1st version not 3D accelarated one). No need to say, we were mastering plundering grenades and rocket jumps, far before it became a "regular" feature in all games of this kind. I remember, knowing by heart Q2DM2, graping the rail gun, and killing everybody without they can notice... I and my comrade were unbeatable. What a great time it was. A very good solo fps, BUT, an even better multiplayer game. This game was awesome. As Doom, and as Duke Nukem 3D. Thanks to bring it back again. We have a sentence for that in France : "on revient toujours à ses premières amours". (Once you loved something, you will get back for it soon or later (her/him), nevermind. Thx, what a great game !

I've had a lot of loading issues on Xbox Series X. Especially in pvp, sometimes I'll return and itll take 10 seconds to reappear. AND YES. THE GODDAMN PROFANITY FILTER.

Ok ps4 1080 avg 45 fps ps4 pro avg 60 fps so i think ps5 and ps5 pro would be the same treatment locked 60fps on the pro at 4k

Japanese devs just don't like Xbox. Or are against supporting it In GENERAL. Of course not all. Sorta odd since they love Apple products. But you look at Sony's library including Japanese devs, then Xbox and its pretty clear. After they are done making Sony as much money and market share as possible or when the MS bag is just too good to pass up, then they begrudgingly port their games over, if ever.

lewl... my Alienware Area 51m-R2 from 2020 is performing better than this one... Sure it costed another 1k£ on top... 4 years ago... sure it's IPS 144Hz - no OLED - sure it's GSYNC... sure is a "mediocre" RTX 2080 Super 200W GPU and a 10900K.. ahem...Sure I run 64GB DDR4 because it's not SOLDERED ON!... Sure, I have 2 NVME slots + another SSD SATA slot... sure it is 17' and it's around 4.4 Kg and has TWO power bricks!! But man in 2021 this was 3000£ and now this Omen "transcenced" is what? 2k? and it can't even perform as better? Sure it is lighter, newer chips (CPU and GPU), less upgradable and lighter and has an OLED... hmm.. I still think I will go with my Steam Deck Oled in my backpack and my "lap/desk-top" in the car's booth/trunk TYVM ;) PS: Oh right I forgot to mention.. the CPU + GPU are desktop grade chips (they are not soldered and you can literally swap/change them). You can also overclock to hell and back and the cooling solution uses vapor chamber tech for both CPU & GPU... explains the weight and "thickness" if you want to call it that ;) No sub-100W limitations here...

UE5 is so much worse than UE4.

My favorite game of all time. Definitely worth a play although I'd highly recommend PC. Awesome details and I'm excited for Dawntrail getting DLSS and actual Anti Aliasing, those jaggies have been terrible forever. I've been playing on and off since 2014 and they've taken FFXIV from one of my favorite games to the crown of what MMORPG's are capable of.

you missed the most outstanding handheld, the GPD Win 4 2024, its the only 8840U handheld with a occulink (PCIe4 x4 externally) port so far, it has a keyboard under the screen which looks just cool.

Okay, let's get the Xbox Chat Filter problem out the way first; It's Unacceptable. I've seen people trending with screenshot proof that they've been BANNED from Xbox because of mentioning the phrase 'Free Company' in messages, which is the name given to the guilds system in-game. In addition, the filter works on ALL chat text, including NPCs in events and in-game dialogue. This is frankly embarrassing on Xbox's part and the filter frankly needs to be removed instead of redressed. Yeah, that XBSS wait time in content is not good. 20 seconds for a revive from some party members can make or break a moment in those later fights; If you're a caster DPS capable of reviving your healer, your party's likely wiped by the time your healer regains control. CBU3 will likely be looking at this for Dawntrail.

I don't understand DF's insistence of 30fps. I think its because Starfield and other xbox titles are 30fps. But, the notion that a game is ok at 30fps, is both stupid and irrational. High or 60fps framerate is a MUST for all medias of entertainment as it applies to gaming. You GOT to have high soap opera style framerate because the gameplay is smother. And even if there is high latency, the perception is that it is smooth is extremely important. So, don't give me that 30fps is fine for this game. No it is not! Even if there is hitching in some areas of the game, the attempt at 60fps with a 30fps option is much better than to force 60fps. This is why Starfield felled, and M$ has gone back in a year later and made the patch. No one like 30fps. And don't get me wrong 30fps looks good sometimes but overall I would and many others as well would prefer 60fps and higher.

Thinking about it, for a particularly intensive stress test you could leave effects on and join an Aether datacentre hunt train on-content. That'll be a lot less static. That'd be hundreds of players actually fighting a thing.
