With a name of TMIO Tesla this story is already one sided. You don't think his inventory is 5 and 7 years old and people are looking elsewhere. His so called FSD has been promised to work from 2016 and still nothing. People are waking up to his lies. He doesn't have a car company, he has a Tech company and that tech (FSD) is no more than level 2, the same as EVERY other car company that does not fleece $$$$$$ for it. As for 1,000 cyber trucks a week - production has been for 4 months now. There was a total recall for the accelerator pedal, a total of 4,000 cyber trucks. That's 250 cyber trucks a week being made, not 1,000 - so more porkies to keep the share price up, but still dropping.

FSD can be used in ICE cars too. Why do people keep coupling FSD with electric propulsion? If I were Ford I'd try porting Tesla's FSD to their transit van as a hybrids. You can't tow with FSD but you can RV, deliver packages, and deliver 12 people in a van. Ford needs more time to get their EV's perfected to the Tesla level.

My initial reaction is that Toyota will lose share and be a small player in the EV industry, BUT then I remember how the Japanese quickly caught up and surpassed Chrysler in the minivan segment. I think Toyota will have to redefine the role of their dealership network. EV have a much lower maintenance requirements and I have noticed that a lot of legacy dealerships are requiring a lot of BS maintenance in their EVs (e.g., check this, check that, etc) and charging high prices for these visits. I think Toyota should start a brand new corporate owned retail store model from scratch.

4 years ago when the main message was that batteries took 20 years to develop to a level of useful product in a suitable vehicle. In order to hit the "save the world" mission in proportion to the rapidly declining social collapse under the fossil fuels political corruption and environmental pollution onslaught, you can aim low and fast or high and slow, so Tesla began with the monetary indulge level of marketing, (extreme tech needs no advertising), which has the usual problem of elite status symbols. The battery tech is all over the spectrum in price still, and in appropriateness fit for purpose. The combination of tech and elitist values perception, mostly propaganda arranged against a competitor to the status quo, has confused many aspects of the results of achieving the mission against some pretty low acts of disgusting sabotage of improving the quality of life by Tesla as a Software Company. So the approaching release of higher density power availability batteries at lower cost in FSD EVs is a "may you live in interesting times " situation. A Declaration of Defence of the planet saving mission requires reiteration, continuously, and strategic planning to adapt to the mafia-like status quo. This is what I see, not what think I should see.., because it's vital that everyone reiterates what they SHOULD know about holographic positioning nucleation and the required first principles technologies to save a sense-in-common society that lives on the planet.

I did a complet 180 from thinking that EVs and Tesla has saturated the market with no growth left, to placing an order for a new Model 3 after my son bought one. FSD at reasonable cost will blow the competition out of the water. On top of no engine,oil,transmission, coolant, break lines, and sticking it the Saudi oil cartel is a winner.

The only strategy legacy auto has is the same one they have been using for about 10 years now, misinform the public about EV's and keep telling them that they need to buy their hybrids and ICE vehicles. So far it has worked for them. The risk of that strategy is that it most likely will eventually run out of steam, as you can only mislead millions of people only for so long, and when that eventually happens, they will have no profitable EV's to sell.

The only legacy auto to survive will be who 1) does commit to EV’s and 2) license’s FSD. So none if not less. However, if any do, I could see Tesla charging for updates and features to produce an additional revenue stream. Of non-legacy players, I would really like to see Rivian work an FSD deal to keep them competitive.

It's a good strategy as long as they don't get greedy. Endless monthly subscriptions to every little thing can breed intense customer resentment. Witness BMW subscription for heated seats. The add-on businesses have to have serious value, and not be perceived to have no cost to Tesla. The "unlocking" of extra range is dangerous territory , since it is seen and having no cost to Tesla and therefore gouging. A bit like charging for seat selection on a plane ticket. Tesla's customers are their biggest asset, but doing stuff like that can turn them into adversaries.

Hybrids are doing great, while EV sales are missing their sales targets. Toyota, the automotive industry's hybrid champion, has doubled its market value in just two years. Tesla Motors lost half its market value in the same timespan. People figured out that Tesla is a car company and not a tech company.

I think Teslas look good except for the Cybertruck which looks stupid, but they all look basically the same. Maybe Tesla should buy up Rivian and Canoo to get some styling and type diversity into their lineup.

I think the reason PHEVs aren't selling as well as EVs is because in almost all cases, there is a standard gas model of the same vehicle right there on the lot beside the PHEV with an $8,000 lower sticker price. I waited 13 months to get a Maverick hybrid (I know it's not a PHEV) like 10s of thousands of other buyers because, when the price is the same or lower than the gas version, that's what people want.

Tesla gigantic problem is a complete inability to do marketing & PR.

I don't really care so much about ideology. What I *DO* care about, is how whatever product fits my needs in the short, medium, and long term. Given that I don't currently need to do huge distances and I live in a city with access to my own driveway, ICE makes no sense for my use case. That said, you still need to consider the cost of capital. Even if running an EV was 100% completely free, there is still the cost, or opportunity cost, of putting the funding into the asset in the first instance.

Horses gave way to cars, fossil fuel cars back to electric, and its all about effective use of energy and overcoming ruthless vested interests, but mostly general education polluted by political deliberate ignorance on behalf of the dominant criminality with fraudulent control of finances is the Observable constant problem.
